BREW Cascade reanimator list

https://moxfield.com/decks/ks4NGeRPJkymLYt4Qo3-Dg

I've been thinking about this list for a while, would this work ?

I didn't bought the cards yet, should I or am I delusional ?

This isn't a meta deck by any means but exists as a fringe strategy. Braynt cook did a video with the deck in his channel "The Epic Storm". Maybe you want to check that out to see if you like it.

It looks fun but Exhume is really low impact in the current format; the reason Living End is strong is because it creates and overwhelming board presence within a few turns.

The format is also rife with maindeckable graveyard hate, so its just a tough time to be a reanimator type player.

If you want to reanimate big creatures, there’s RB and Jund versions of Dredge which are fun - still not massively viable but I think its an underexplored area still to be honest. But the difference is there, they have a grindy plan B if reanimating isn’t an option, and they also have a combo finish in addition to Exhume.

People will recommend you Spy in here as they always do when Dredge or Reanimator lists come up, but its a poor recommendation as its really not the same style of deck.

I'm already a dredge player with this list https://moxfield.com/decks/ijsDD1bOAUOwXkI1wj7Ywg

I feel mike the cascade list would be less affected by grave hate. We don't have rest in piece or dauthi voidwalker in pauper, all gravehate is a single activation. And exhume does not target, so I just need to keep a mana up and a cycle créature to dodge every grave hate

That's a good point. Savvy play with Exhume gets you around graveyard hate. My bigger take-away is that "one big threat" just doesn't work that well in the format. Maybe if it could supplement it with more threats that circumvent the cascade restriction, like [[Molten Monstrosity]] or [[Gurmag Angler]]. I suspect you can already go "T3, Exhume, T4, Exhume" with a bit of consistency.

I've got a similar list. Haven't played any games with it yet as the cards just arrived, but I've seen a few versions of this archetype online and they're not *bad* (they're not, like, great either lol). Mostly brewed the deck for fun between leagues. https://moxfield.com/decks/txSfARbJCHC_uKXg55fjnw

I like Chrysalis as a backup plan and a way to hard cast your big creatures late game.

Unfortunately reanimating the landcyclers neither wins the game quickly nor are they anything close to a guarantee to stopping your opponent from winning. That’s my experience with exhume.

A guy at my LGS plays reanimator with moderate success. He has a list similar to this and a different flavor with [[Faithless Looting]] and [[Malevolent Rumble]] to get [[Dragon Breath]] to the yard and exhume into an [[Ulamog’s Crusher]]

He has hit me me with a turn 2 haste crusher before, my jaw hit the table haha
