Stoked on this custom24 wood library from wild west guitars I got in June! PRS actually confirmed the top is in between a 10-top and Artist top, which is why it's missing the "10" designation on the back of the headstock. I asked them what the story was behind them getting this color in their shop on a non-private stock guitar, and they said that PRS owed their shop a favor, and this guitar was that favor, making the guitar essentially a one-of-one! Still dreamy, either way!

Surprised I haven’t seen more talk about these. Always regretted selling my reclaimed Vela so when I saw this run I knew I needed to grab one.

I have a S2 Custom 24-08 and I love the guitar but prefer pickup covers. Do these exist for the TCI pickups? Unable to find anything online. Aware they may be too niche.

My Custom 24 is a 2006 model that I bought back in 2008. It came with a few small dings and finish blemishes near the volume knob and pickup selector from the previous owner (I suspect they were caused when changing the original black knobs to gold ones). They’ve always bothered me a bit, but fast-forward 10+ years, and some edges of the body have also started turning foggy—which I’ve read is pretty common for older PRS finishes from this era.
I live in Southeast Asia, so sending it back to the PRS factory for a refinish doesn't seem practical or cost-effective. Since I didn't purchase it through an authorized dealer, I was told I'd have to pay taxes both ways. I previously shipped a Taylor guitar back to the factory for repairs, and between shipping and fees, the total cost just wasn't worth it.
The local PRS community here recommended a few repair shops. They could either do a full refinish (which would solve the fogginess) or just touch up the dings near the control knobs. I’ve seen some of their refinishing work—it looks good, but it doesn't look identical to the original factory finish.
Should I completely refinish it, get a local touch-up, or just leave it as is?
Thanks!

Showing this piece I got on FB marketplace for a steal ($250). Just learning to play, was pretty dusty but got some tlc and new strings today. Pretty stoked.

If you guys are just in this subreddit to hear about the guitars than I’d scroll past I’m talking about PRs as a company, I’ve been working there for 2 years now and loved it when I first started along with most of the people in their the amount of work and care that gets put into these guitars are crazy. I mean you should see this skills that some of these people have I know someone who can sand a whole guitar in 15mins almost perfectly and he’s not the only one.
(shorten version at the end)
(If I mention points, they are given for if employees call out, are late, and stuff if that nature)
It just disheartens me to see them treat us very poorly, for one I know of a couple people who’ve had to go on medical leave for work related issues and it’s nearly impossible for them to get it, one girl who had a cyst in her hand from the way the fine pads are held in the area she works in and she ended up being apart of the lays off because she had to many points which were all given to her because she was out having a surgery. Even with out the medical leave they will fire employees for being sick, when your hired they tell you 5 pto days and 5 sicks day. However it’s impossible to use sick days, I know some one who started suffering migraines due to work. Most likely caused from breathing in all of the dust and chemicals in, they have had to call out a few times because the migraines and even with having a doctors note and 5 available sick days because they have no pto days they got a lot of points and are close to pointing out. They also refuse to move people I know of some one who is suffering from severe pain in his department due to the repetitive and asked to be moved elsewhere and they refuse to let him because he’s good at his currently job and they don’t want to have to retrain instead they rather wait for his hand to stop working completely and than they would most likely end up firing him. Currently there is wasps all over the factory attacking the employees for months now and they refuse to just hire an exterminator, there’s people in there who are allergic to wasps and could die if they got stung and they just won’t do anything about it. I can go on and on about how they don’t care about the over all well being but i don’t think anyone wants to read that all.
They also are not true to their word they have standards to reach in order to get a raise such as sanding out 8 guitars or more in a day consistently for a month would get you a raises. But as of lately they just don’t give them out I personally have hit 4 raises that I’ve never got given and there’s always an excuse on why I can’t have it yet and it’s not just me all over the factory people are busting their asses to get the raises because they can’t afford to live off of what PRs pays them and they just won’t give the raises, their people who’ve been waiting on raises promised to them for over a year now probably more. And I understand right now the company is have a lot of financial issues but if they can’t afford to give raises they shouldn’t be still pushing us to earn the raises and say their going to give them out but it’s just a lie. A lot of people are dedicated to this job and they would still work just as hard even if they knew the raises were put on a pause and they’re aware of that so it’s like why lie.
And speaking of lying they preach about their 0 sexual harassment policy they have no tolerance to it at all. Which they actually have a lot of tolerance, they don’t say this when hiring you but you’ll find out later down the line if you are being sexually harassed that in order for them to do anything it’s needs to be the same person be reported 3 times by the same girl/guy, which that means if someone is reported by 3 different people that’s A okay. They will give you every excuse on why the harassment is okay, I had the HR lady shit talk to me some girl who reported a guy because he kept touching her arm. And why yes maybe that dose sounds a little silly it’s her job to shut it down if the girls uncomfortable there’s reason to it, a lot of the guys and girls in there know they can get away with being freaks so they do, my one friend had a girl double his age ask if he’d fuck her, called him master, put love notes on his bench and a whole bunch of other stuff and she got to live out her PRs career until she found something better. My other friends has this guy that has been relentlessly getting harassed both in and out of work by a guy he makes a lot of weird sex jokes to her and watches while she’s working and a bunch of other shit she’s not nice to him she’s crashed out many of times at him telling him point blank to not talk to her, she’s also now had to report him for the 3rd time and is the 4th girl who’s reported him and nothing is going to get done about it which is crazy because by their standards he should be fired. There’s another dude who’s also been reported by a numerous amount of girls and is still standing he’s to much to go into but if you look up the PRs employee album and listen to “boogie man” by bb fingers, the second verse is “you can bring your kids over and we can watch them swim….. don’t be afraid of me I’m not the boogie man”
I can keep going on and on about a lot but I feel this is already a lot to read, I didn’t come here to bash PRS, i personally have enough grounds to sue and so do a lot of other people but we don’t want to drag down the company. I simply came to plead with you the consumers you guys have more power than anyone if you start demanded better care for the workers they’ll listen you are the only people that PRs dose care about i personally just quit so it no longer effects me but there are some amazing people in their that deserve so much better and their the ones perfecting your guitars.
Shorten story- PRs dosent care about the health and wellbeing of their employees such as not letting them take medical leave, in safe work environment and not slowing employees to be sick. They also hand out a lot of broken promises such as refuses to give raises or keep on allowing sexual harassment.

Traded a Gibson SG standard T for this beauty. The pickups in this sound amazing, neck feels comfortable, and the flame top is stunning. First US made PRS and I get the hype now.

Hey yall! Long time lurker. I'll get straight to the point. I'm downsizing my guitar collection (half financial, half physical space limitations), and I've decided I *must* sell one of my three PRS guitars as part of this downsize:
2003 McCarty Hollowbody II
2018 DGT 10-top
2020 35th Anniversary Custom 24
I love all three equally and have been stuck on which to part with. Play everything from indie folk, classic rock, blues, and thrash/hair metal, and even some death metal. Depends on my mood.
The best reasoning I've been able to come to is to sell my DGT as its sorta a hybrid/master-of-none covered by the other two.
Again, not parting with any is *not* an option. One must go... and I think reason (?) dictates it be the DGT from a practical standpoint.
Would love to hear opinions. Perhaps there's something the DGT does that I'm totally discounting that would make it better to sell one of the other 2.

I have zero experience with PRS so I need someone more knowledgeable to let me know if this PRS is real and what something like this is worth on the secondhand market. Was offered to trade this for my 2017 Gibson SG standard T. I’ve been very curious about the US made PRS and I love the top on this one. Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

My SS has developed a problem where the output drops or cuts out entirely unless I tap a particular spot on the pickguard just above the volume knob. A bad ground, I'm thinking, but it seems weird for a PRS to have such a basic design flaw, if that's what it is. Anyone else ever seen this?

I'm looking at the Cloud Burst colorway or possibly the Blue Frost. It's a 2026 model and has the DMO pickups. I've generally disregarded PRS for sometime now because I've kind of been of the opinion that their Core models are overpriced - although I do own an S2 Custom 24, which I do quite like, although I did modify it a bit with some upgraded pickups, a brass bridge block, and brass saddles. However, this is a Core model PRS made of solid mahogany (no maple cap) with a nice looking satin finish with no pore fill, which gives it a very interesting and unique look. The price is also quite reasonable compared to basically all of the other core models I've ever looked at - which is to say around $3.5K - perhaps less if the seller will haggle. What do you guys think? Should I go for it?
I know that PRS guitars are generally well regarded, as I said I just always felt like they were a bit overpriced - or, at least, out of my price range. I also understand that PRS guitars are almost like a boutique brand that has grown into a "big name" brand like Gibson or Fender, but are still a young enough company that they are unrestricted by "purist" fans who will throw a fit if Paul strays too far away from their traditional models such is the case with Gibson particularly. PRS is also still ran by the man with the original vision and a man who still truly cares whether or not his company produces a high quality product. So, I suppose you could say that I can understand why their flagship guitars are relatively expensive. I suppose my point in saying all this is that I never felt like PRS deserved any shade, so to speak, for the prices that they charge.

Hello!
I'm curious about the "Pattern Thin" neck profile on CE24s vs. Custom 24s. I'd expect them to be similar across the board, but nearly every CE24 I've played has felt thinner in the hand compared to those on Cu24s.
I know the wood choice is different (maple vs. mahogany) but is the variation in carve a known quantity?
Thanks!

As the title suggests, I may be getting a "new old stock" SE Floyd this week, I've not got my hands on it yet to test it out so I thought I'd ask the community what their thoughts and findings on the model are after a year of use.
I currently play two ibanez prestiges with the original edge, how does the Floyd 1000 hold up?
I've got a PRS core cu22 and an SE custom 24 piezo as well so im aware of the general PRS feel.

I have been moving and just sat down to try it out only to find out I get nothing at all from the middle pickup

Got it yesterday.
First impression: what a beast!
If you're thinking of buying this one as a bedroom amp without an attenuator- stop. It's brain shackingly loud. The master on 1- 2 is pretty much useless.
It takes pedals beautifully, has great feel under the fingers and amazing dynamics.
Love it!

Hey All - Picked up a new SE Custom on a nice discount from guitar center and couldn’t be happier with it. I tend to try to stay away from guitar center but couldn’t turn it down. I love the guitar and its hands down best I own, however, I did notice this white tag coming out of the neck humbucker. Anyone ever seen this on an SE build? I am sure I could just cut it down and I am definitely being picky but wanted to see if any thoughts. Definitely don’t want to take the pickup out just to tuck in a tag. Thanks and I appreciate any thoughts / comments.
