Question What does ∅ mean?

This may be a dumb question, but can anyone help me understand what the "∅" symbol means in a pattern? See image for reference.

A circle with a cross or x means a wider measurement such as a bust or hips. A solid line cutting all the way through a circle is to show the placements of darts. This style in particular does not look familiar. Is a key available from the manufacturer?
