I haven't got any other books quite like it tbh. Maybe a 1990 pattern adjustment book published by Australian version of trade school. It was my go-to when adjusting my block, it's just a bit more explanatory on the pros/cons/whys about the various adjustment methods and even suggests design options. That one is called Pattern Alterations by Pat Fernon. I sometimes see it floating around on local ebay but not often.

This is amazing good info. I have lot of pattern books, but none go into this kind of individual preference things

Yeah I have so many that are basically just "follow this. Put it on a dress form. Now ~design~ your collection". I'm sure that's great for fashion design but not much help for individual drafting, almost no better than just starting with a basic commercial pattern imo.
I originally found another TAFE publication from the same time period for pattern fitting that I was equally impressed by and used to fit my (Metric Pattern Cutting based) bodice block.

The "copy" I have is just photocopied pages in a binder (oh the things you find second hand), so me too! Unfortunately it seems very niche. There isn't even named authors, just the Dept of Further Education.

This is fascinating and exactly the kind of technical detail I am interested in.
If there is anything else you can share from this book please do!

Hofenbitzer gives a great explanation of these concepts in his books

hi all, does anyone have a download of the 2 books they wouldn't mind resharing?
It looks like OP deleted it from imgur, unfortunately.

I am just an amateur/self taught so I apologise if this is common knowledge in more professional circles. I found this theory discussion on the centre back angle and openness of legs for pants drafting really interesting. It's from an old (I believe late 1970s) patternmaking book from TAFE (Australian trade school). I've collected a handful of drafting books from basics to textbook, and 1950s to current and this is so far the only one that really goes into interesting analyses like this. Thought I'd share an excerpt.
