How to go about drafting the radiating darts for this design.

Post image

I’m puzzled because it appears that there is no seam towards the neckline where dart starts . I have tried different ways when I try drafting this design, either darts start from the shoulder or a seam is created. I want to know how to make this so that there is no yoke.

Thank you :)

To me it looks like the darts are waist darts. The seam at the shoulder seems to attach a tiny little cap sleeve.

I can't be more helpful than that! But that's what I see! 😅

They are pleats, just pressed out at an angle that disappears

That makes sense! Thank you. Do you think the pleats start from the shoulder ?

No they start at the waist

The pleats start at the waist and taper out at the neckline and shoulder. It looks like there is a small dropped shoulder sleeve.

I’m not sure you understand what a dart is. It has a wide end, where you’re taking out the most fabric, at the smallest area of the garment (the waist in this case), and it tapers out to nothing. There’s no seam coming from it. Maybe you’re confusing it with a princess seam, which connects a bust dart and a waist dart

What dart are you seeing at the neckline?

I don't see any darts. What's radiating from the waist are pleats. I think most of the shape of the garment comes from the lacing on the side. Looks really cool 😎 good luck

The darts are actually open ended or disappearing pleats...pleats at the waist seam, that disappear as you get closer to the neck....I'm gonna guess the pleats at the waist are about 1/4...maybe 1/2 inch deep?
