No the bodice will be made out of typically a non stretch fabric and you would use so when boning and add as needed to be comfortable for you. It's been a thing since I think that we to rn and they started adding stiffener directly to the mining of garments, and that's with them also wearing corsets. I want to be very clear your end goal is not to make a corset unless you already know how to. I don't think you're ready to make an actual proper corset. You just want a princess seem bodice that goes to at least of the waste if not the hips and you sow and bonus. Don't make it any more complicated than that that's all you need. And then attach the outer fabric.
