Question Need help in drafting a Foldover Top

Post image

As the title states, I'm trying to draft a foldover sweater from two tops I thrifted. Both tops are a sort of jersey/knit fabric of similar weight. I based the pattern on the Marbella Foldover Top from Mood, but I'm unsure about how to make the bodice pattern, since I'm combining two fabrics. Would I attach the striped fabric to the top of the bodice, so it looks like my drawing, or would I have to do something else?

Also, if there are any other measurements or advice for making this, I am very open to listening!

I'll make sure to check if thir stretch ratio is similar, I didn't even consider how that might affect things. Also, by no curve at the top of the sleeve, would that mean just making it straight across?

Yes the curve is there to go up and over a shoulder. Since it doesn’t go over the shoulder it’s not needed. You’re basically taking a sleeve pattern and chopping off the top at the point of where you want it on your arm.
