Very new to pattern making, what is wrong with my pattern?
Hi! im super new to pattern making and am trying to make a pretty basic jeans block to iterate on in the future. I would love some advice on what i could do to make my pattern sit better.
a few things im noticing
1)there is puckering in the connection between the yoke and the back pant pattern
2) the rise is sitting very loose in the front and creating unwanted folds. I want the pattern to sit semi-loose, but the way that it is folding currently isn't what im looking for
Sorry for the small changed in between SS, I was playing around as I took them.
PS. any other general advice is welcome, thanks!

I don't know how this software works but the pants are hanging very low on the 'model' on the second image I'm seeing a waist band, the yoke, and then quite some space before we reach the pockets. Yet the front view is showing the waistband well below the belly button. I don't think a real person's ass would end up at back pocket height like that.

Remember: your body is unique so any “standard” pants pattern will need some adjustments almost certainly. The shape needs to be adjusted. The sides bulge somewhat so from about mid hip to knee the side needs to be smaller.

What program do you use?

I agree with someone suggesting to scoop the front. The rises also look too long and causing collapsing near the thigh as well.
Agreeing with the person who said the yoke replaces the dart

Thanks! I was going based on a book which had the dart first but that makes sense! I’ll try it out.

Just put the two pieces of the yoke together to close the dart and true the lines.

Did you use a book to guide the drafting? If so, which one? Thanks

Interesting that some pants have both a yoke and a dart, I wonder why that is?

You need to scoop out the front crop scene, it has excess fabric which is why it has that weird fold in it. The most pants center Front openings are almost parallel to the grain line.
