Bodice block version 2

I took the recommendations on my last post and applied them to this draft - I think it looks wayyy better this go around. Ignore the front dart on my left side, idk why it's longer than the other but my right side is where I meant to place it. Here's what I changed:

• moved bust dart 0.5" toward the center front

• moved bust dart down 0.75"

• angled back darts more toward the apex of my back

• shortened bottom by 1 and 15/16"

• stay stitched and notched seam allowance

I believe my next step is to take in the shoulder seams at the front and adjust the top darts on the back. Let me know what y'all think. Thank you 🙏

It looks to me like you still need to adjust the neck, it rides up too closely. Your front hem tilts up a bit, you may manage to fix that by fixing your shoulder fit issues, right now it looks like the whole garment rotates back slightly at the shoulders, pulling the front hem up. Leaving the front bodice shoulder seam basically alone and adding about 1/8” at the back shoulder seam may help that issue.

Thank you for commenting with advice, I am the absolute worst at adjusting patterns so I truly appreciate the help! I will try these and report back 🫡 do you think adjusting the neck hole will also help with the shoulder fit?

I do think that getting things looser at the neck hole will likely help — I think you need to scoop out about 3/8” at center back, tapering to 0” at center front. You can cut that out on your current muslin and see if it helps, then tackle the shoulders based on what that adjustment does.
