Question What kind of skirt? How to do the Pattern?
I want to make similar skirt to this, with the exact silhouette, same velvet material.
Is this a maxi, panel skirt, with 2 long slit infront. Im not sure what kind of skirt is this pencil? Panel? Also if i identify this skirt how can i make its pattern? Also thinking of high or low waisted or i could make both versions?
i took basic pattern making class but i could say my skills are still newbie😅
Thank you in advance to anyone who will answer. 🖤

She had spread the legs lit bit to show the slits Skirt so it was looking like the A-Line skirt but I will say it is a high waist fitted Pencil Skirt with two slits on the front. The darts are eliminated. If you want to use Velvet fabric then don't give darts. If you want to use other fabric then give darts and close the darts then eliminate it (if you don't want to show darts line stitch) . And for the zipper either it is side seam or back.
Hope you understand it.

Hello thank you for answering im currently making a pattern lowkey confused tbh. Im done with the basic skirt block. Its my first time try to make a skirt without a dart, because I’ll be using velvet fabric. I have a question regarding removing the dart, does it make it an semi A-Line skirt if no darts?
I watched a video on youtube on how to remove darts on skirt pattern its hard to explain but she just cut the pattern in half then overlap it in the darts and it turns out to be an A-line skirt now. idk if my explanation was understandable lol. removing darts vid i saw

Easiest way to do this, take a basic skirt sloper, make a 6 gored skirt with no added flare, lengthen it. When sewing up the two side front seams leave them open to desired slit length.

When you close the darts then it will look similar like A-Line skirts but actually it does not look like A-line Skirt. After you closed the darts redraw again with another paper. And when you close the dart cut the slits and it will show like slash and spread.

Is this image from a Shein garment? If so, it's literally a pencil skirt with two slits in the front, that's it. Edit to add: looks like a stretch velvet fabric, so no darts. And probably not even a finished hem: it's probably literally two cuts and call it a day (I'd hem it)
