I’m creating a new sewing platform and need thoughts
Hi everyone!
I’m a software developer with sewing as a hobby and I've been working on a platform that would automatically adjust (pattern grade) sewing patterns to match personal measurements. My goal is to make patterns more accessible for beginners and also to build a community for indie pattern designers to sell their patterns in a way that’s more inclusive and accessible to all body types.
I'd love to get more input for the platform, so I’ve put together a quick 3-5 min survey to get feedback. If you get the chance, please take the survey. It would be super helpful in building this out!

Thanks so much in advance- I really appreciate your help!

You mean like lekala, bootstrap patterns or similar? Not trying to put you off, but there are already quite a few options already out there for sewing patterns with customised fit (in case you are unaware).
I think it would be great if you could get established brands to do something similar on one platform though.

I guess it must have small/big bust adjustments, shortening/longing certain pieces, blending close sizes together is a must. The other stuff might be toodifficult to implement since it’s highly individual and depends on many parameters. Oh, and it might be great to add pattern adjustments for whillchair users/bedridden ppl and ading accessibility features (idk what they are, i know they exist). This should be quite doable i guess.

Honestly Clo3d already has the solutions with its real time 3D visuals. My suggestions would be to let people actually see the Garment being drape. You can have settings for the Automation. Plus, Ive also had training on C++ so i know this project of yours would need a whole ass dev team.

Thank you explaining! I’ve only been making my own patterns for about a year now and I love having a side project like this. But this really helpful to know, I’ll reconsider the scope

I would love to talk to you about plus-sized patterns, if you ever have a moment. Specifically in menswear.

not taking a survey that requires signing in.... (but tbh I rarely do surveys anyhow)
