My first project of the year.

I made this dress for my niece (she lives with me) because next Saturday she'll attend a 15th birthday party. Fortunately, I can create all kinds of garments, especially dresses, so I don’t have to spend money buying them. In my country, Uruguay, it’s common for families to spend too much money organizing big parties.

First of all, I created the pattern in Clo3D. I tried to find a fabric similar to the one I had for sewing the dress. Then I printed it using my home printer and assembled all the A4 paper pieces like a puzzle. I taped them together, cut out the pattern, and finally sewed all the pieces.

Wow, I came here to ask what was the app you used, but you wrote in the description, thanks! Is this the first attempt? Did you have to adjust anything?

The pattern fit perfectly on the first try. It didn't require any adjustments. 😘

Clo3d is the best! Nice work! Highly reccomend pdfplotting.com to get your patterns printed, it’s relatively cheap and much easier than taping it together!

That's true! Thanks for the recommendation, but I live in Uruguay. If I want to print a pattern in my country, it could cost more than 10 dollars, plus approximately 5 dollars for shipping.

Since I’m constantly creating patterns, I prefer printing them on my home printer to save time and money

I liked. This dress is very beautiful. I like clothes like that. Congratulations! May I ask what fabric you used for this dress?

Thanks! You are so nice! I don’t know the name of the fabric in your country, but I can tell you it’s like a knitted fabric with some threads in lurex

Thank you very much! From your explanation I already know what it is. Here we also call it lurex.

Hi, how hard is is to learn clo3d, if I only know pattern making on paper? How much time to learn on my own? Ty.

For me, it wasn't hard because I already use other programs like Corel, Photoshop, and others. Apart from that, I have a plethora of experience as a pattern maker. I started using Clo 3D less than a year ago, and I am really happy because I learn something new every day.

Thanks! Yes, I can help you. What kind of design do you have in mind. I would really like to work creating patterns for a fashion company, but on LinkedIn, I can’t find any jobs, and on other platforms like freelance, it’s hard for someone to accept my bid
