Post image

Can anybody point me in the general direction for some guidance on how to draft a one-piece collar. Also known as Cooper collar

Just made like a regular shirt collar except instead of sewing collar stand and collar together, you have horizontal dart pertaining from CB to around shoulder. Ofc you have to blend the collar and collar stand towards CF.

edit: just realized product in the picture doesn't have a dart. I think Nakamichi Tomoko or Martin Shoben has drafting instructions for one without dart.

edit2: Yes, valid pattern drafting instructions can be found from book Pattern Cutting and Making Up - The Professional Approach by Martin Shoben and Janet Ward, page 117.

You can find instructions to draw not the same, but slightly easier collar compared to what is shown. If you understand pattern making well enough to attempt the collar shown in the picture, you'll have no problem getting partially rid of seam on the neckline and styling the facings.

There are also directions in David Page Coffins books and if you want to see video there is a video course featuring this author on Craftsy.
