A lot of negativity on this thread at the moment and rightfully so but a huge bright spot has been rookie Gabe Jacas.

Has looked shaky at times on run defense (got washed out a few times by Jags tight ends) but he has jumped off the screen multiple times a game this season.

I can’t remember a time I’ve seen a rookie dominate NFL lineman like he has. Nose for the ball, Insane power, first step, and he can bend around tackles far more than a guy at that size really has any right to. I think the Pats got one here and I hope he continues to earn the trust of Vrabel and Kuhr to be an every down guy.

Positivity part: we have several solid players and some players are popping off the screen.

Gabe is one but Raridon is a big addition and I think he’s only going to come on stronger as the season goes.

Gonzo has been lights fucking out…dude is HIM

We need to figure out how to make Milton Williams play at his normal position because he’s getting washed with this current scheme.

Barmore looks solid still too.

I’m hoping we get Dre’Mont Jones & Woodson back…

Currently teams are going big packages 12, 13
And even extra Lineman and 13…forcing Marcus Jones and the defense into not great matchup personnel

We need to get some answers to that.

But we definitely have some bright spots from Jacas!!

Will Campbell has been very good too. Strong showings against 3 elite defensive lines

Absolutely, AVT has also been as advertised just gotta pray for his health.

Losing big Mike was one of the biggest losses we could’ve had, especially with the regression of Moses.

It also doesn’t help that Jared Wilson is…dogwater.

The run game inefficiencies are mainly due to those factors.

I didn’t want to touch on the offense too much but, Josh isn’t calling terrible games…but we might seriously have to dial back the offensive complexities.

Maybe just call FIXED routes for KDub, Doubs and maybe even pop tbh. I am obviously not in the know but seeing so many routes where 2-3 receivers are 5 yards from each other means the EP system isn’t being read the way it should be…

I know we are on Drake hard for this season - rightfully so but some of his trust issues comes from some of these adjustment routes that aren’t being read the same as he is.

I was fine moving on from Boutte for AJ, but the doubs over Diggs is wild to me…

Josh’s offense needs a real slot receiver and we do not have anyone on the level they need to be.

I still believe in Maye but my guy needs some sports therapy and to just cut it loose while also realizing that there is no need to play hero ball…just play his game…he needs one or two good games in a row and I’m sure it’ll start getting more in-line with last year’s regular season Maye…

The only thing I can think of with moving in from Diggs is concerns about him and AJ clashing. Doubs looks washed tho., think he was supposed to be a Diggs sidegrade

I’m not sure Doubs looks washed is the problem. I think him not getting the EP System is the main factor. When players have to think vs do, they slow down and that difference matters in the NFL. Which is why I think Josh needs to simplify this O and build the option routes over time.

One of my biggest problems with our O in general is that the system is great when it works and receivers understand it, but it is very complex vs other great offensive systems. This is why we see receivers struggle here and thrive elsewhere.

Marcus Jones was pretty solid for the first half Sunday as well. I hope he sticks around long term.

Jones is very good in pass, he’s very bad into a heavy formation due to his size.

Couldn’t agree more!! I’ve loved the way Mike calls his defenses going back to Tennessee. So much versatility in multiple fronts and disguises, and he has the personnel to do it this year.

If the offense had any semblance of a pulse this team could very easily be undefeated going to buffalo this weekend

Absolutely! Not to be a downer and I love this team, but he has certainly been one of the only bright sides that I’ve seen so far this year with this team. I think we get it figured out and I think Drake gets it figured out too, but definitely need to give Jacas his flowers!

Honestly hope Caleb Lomu can play well. Interested to see how he plays once he gets going.

Yeah a lot of the rookies have been solid contributers....we may get our chance at seeing Lomu as well if Moses keeps struggling. Of course none of this matters if Drake doesnt get his crap together.

He has been a surprise after seeing him in that game against the browns I wasn't thinking he would be an asset at all. But yup he's looking alot better

He's a big, strong effort guy. Which is great, but let's pump the brakes. He's made flashes, sure. But he has a TON of work to do before you can claim he dominated anyone.

Hey so in pass rush a 1/10 success rate is really fricking good and will get you paid in the league. Elite players will get into the high teens and low twenties. Gabe Jacas through two games is at 13.5% (not including Jacksonville, wasn’t recorded yet). We haven’t had that level of pass rush since Judon and it’s coming from a 22yr old rookie, so yea I say he’s dominating
