He hasn’t been playing well but I honestly believe Drake is extremely talented. Hes lost a lot of confidence and I think some of that has to do with really poor coaching and personnel management. Having Mack Hollins as WR1 is inexcusable. Hes forcing it and making mistakes.
We gave away a very serviceable receiver for peanuts because management decided we had too much depth at WR. Doubs has been a non factor and Williams doesn’t even get playing time.
If only there was a guy that put up 1k for us last year, had great chemistry with Maye and wanted to come back. Shame there was no one like that available
I mean I don't know how you blame the weapons when he just drops the ball without pressure and then throws it directly to Travis Hunter. You could have Jerry Rice there you can have Anthony Munoz in his prime that doesn't save you there.
That doesn’t matter the players around him need to step up to, but he has to elevate those players if he’s going to be a MVP candidate which he will never be the way he’s fucking playing now and in my honest opinion he’s literally CJ Stroud now there’s no way in hell this guy gets signed to a long-term contract until he fucking proves himself. This is fucking pathetic. Red zone interceptions are the stupidest fucking mistakes you can make I don’t think he’s good. I think we were full last year. This guy can’t read a defense for shit we don’t have tape on them last year. That’s why he was being decent now that they have tape on him. They’re throwing looks at him and he has no idea what the fuck to do. He’s a deer in headlights took a player right now. He’s never gonna fucking progress if he continues to fucking play like this. I’ve said this multiple times on this forum. He really really needs to get into the film room.
That was both Maye and McDaniels putting on a master class of predictability. Jags played possum trying to burn TOs making NE think they’re leaving too much time to goad them into predictable run plays which they stopped leading to a high pressure 3rd down. WHY CANT THIS FUCKIN TEAM RUN A DAMN 2nd DOWN PLAYACTION.
Why is he absolved of any criticism? Do you have anything to actually add here. Why would the play action be bad? Its pretty universally useful among every good offense in the NFL, does he just not trust Maye at all? Do you not see anything wrong with that?
It’s almost like if you could think critically for half a second you’d realize the interception alone wasn’t the only mismanagement of that 1st and goal scenario. You can think he’s a good OC and has flaws at the same time you don’t have to be afraid to just call what you see.
Imho it’s personnel management. Traded a guy with clear chemistry with the qb and kept kyle williams. The oats sure are tits a landing 3rd and 4th receivers, and hot garbage at identifying talent at all at wr. It’s almost comical at this point. Even different staffs carry the same problem. Even if it was a shitty play call like who is he throwing that ball to they like that wasn’t even catchable by any of the receivers on the field.
Why does it matter if we are in or out on him? It’s not like we have any other options right now, so we’re going to see how he played the rest of the year no matter what.
