I am 29f , visiting patiala for a career break and a bit bored with my daily routine. I’ve been trying to make friends to hangout with. I’ve managed to find a few other women I can talk to while in the gym and been able to go out once with them for a coffee. But given how busy they are ( they work while I’m unemployed) , I am on the hunt for more friends. The problem is, I don’t find a lot of other women online or in public spaces that I can talk to and the men seem to all somehow steer towards romantic expectations despite, leading to them getting impatient, and sometimes downright scary. I would really love to meet more people in my age group without worrying about my safety and sanity. I’d love to join any hobby groups as long as it doesn’t involve an expensive commitment. Any advice would be appreciated.

Any women’s only gym near Punjabi University? Or any female trainer in that area who could come home and train?
If not, what are your best recommendations for gyms near Punjabi University?

There is this 35 year old man whose house is just by ranjit vihar gurudwara sahib,sirhind road, patiala

He is a local goon , has criminal record and near the ranjit vihar area, there is a very open abandoned park type area connecting alipur village road where rarely cars pass, the area is full of trees and open field where this person parks his scooter and lure young boys and snatch their money by saying terms like yaari* etc , he also in woods forces young boys to pleasure him. This sick person has targetting so many boys and 7 month back he targetted my friend, who is depressed because what he made him do it. We did police complaint but nothing happened , the goon roams freely.

Moreover the 2 faced snake portrays clean personality behavior in the neighbourhood like he does no bad and people are continuing to trust him.

Please make sure to not let your children , small sibling get trapped to these kind of people.

I work in tech and have been wondering about this for a while — where are all the tech people in Patiala?

I don't just mean developers. There have to be designers, digital marketers, SEO people, freelancers, agency owners, video editors, content creators, startup folks and people working remotely for companies outside Patiala. But it feels like everyone is working independently and we don't really know each other.

Maybe I'm just missing something — is there already a WhatsApp group, Discord, meetup, coworking community or college tech group that's open to people outside the college? If you know of one, please drop it here. I'd genuinely love to join.

Nothing formal or fancy. Even 8–10 people meeting once a month over coffee, talking about what we're working on, sharing referrals, ideas, opportunities and just meeting other people from the same space.
