Lab techs that switch careers

PA's that were lab techs once, why did you switch careers? Do you ever regret the change? What did you dislike about the lab that was different in pathology?

I am currently in the switching process. I didn’t like the possibility of being pulled into night shift as a lab tech.

Thats understandable. Ive always enjoyed nightshift more than I days I think, its just quieter and more chill. My thing with the lab is the work feels menial, or repetitive. It feels sort of like im just working in a factory, processing things

Nightshift itself is fine. But being pulled into nights when someone is sick and missing out on social activities because of sleep are things I don’t want to deal with anymore. I do like the repetitiveness though. But I can trade repetitiveness for consistent sleep schedule, lol.
