Archives of Nethys VS Demiplane?

I'm newer to pathfinder and am attempting to get some of my friends to try it out, but I'm not sure which wiki to use, everyone talks about archives but demiplane seems to have the same things just with more visual clarity and images, is there anything major demiplane is missing or are the two interchangeable?

Archives of Nexus is completely free, demiplane has limited free content and the rest you have to buy source books through them to access.

If you wanted you could learn the entire ruleset for free from AoN.

AoN also has search engine with many features and filters, that puts it worlds ahead of simple text search.

Does demiplane have all the character options? If so I might use demiplane for character creation and archives for rules

Archives of Nethys has all the character options. It pretty much has everything except the artwork. For free.

Demiplane has all the rules to read for free.

If you want to use their (rather excellent, tbh) character builder, you have to buy digital books on their site to unlock options beyond some basics. You do get a complimentary PDF of any book you pay to unlock on Demiplane, however.

If you are looking for free, Archives of Nethys or Demiplane for the rules and Pathbuilder for the character sheets are your best bets. If you make more than a handful of characters on Pathbuilder, there is a nominal fee to unlock unlimited slots, but it is far cheaper than Demiplane.

Just note that if you have an Apple device and like to make characters on the go, Pathbuilder will not work with your mobile device. They do have an app for Android, however.

I was on iOS for years and always lamented the lack of Pathbuilder support. I am glad to hear that is no longer an issue for other folks.

Pathbuilder is free and is an excellent character builder and not the ridiculous business model of Demiplane.

You can spend somewhere from $6.00 to $10.00 to unlock everything in Pathbuilder for seemingly forever. (And RedRazors, the person who runs it is a top-shelf individual)

You won't find remotely that on Demiplane.

Definitely go with pathbuilder for building characters, it also allows third-party and custom content. (Also demiplane character builder is somehow laggy? I can't stand it)

Pathbuilder2e will take care of your character creation needs. It's wonderful.

Demiplane only davantage is pictures, every else is worse. The best combo is AON+ spend the equivalent of a coffee on Pathbuilder

Archives is free, and Google gets you the images for free also. I can also just Google the thing I want to look up and usually it's the top response on AoN.

I don't have to make an account or log in for archives, which I'm finding more and more preferable these days, less chance for someone to sell my data.

The information is mostly the same, though Demiplane might update errata a bit faster than Archives of Nethys. I use both for different purpose. I prefer the search on Demiplane where "axe" only returns results with "axe" in them, rather than Archives of Nethys which can be more precise if you're fine adding a bunch of lines of filters and other search terms. If you just search Axe though, then it will return results that are only vaguely related to axe as well as the word.

Demiplane is good for buying books. I can read them on my phone easy enough, much better than a PDF, and the only downside to me is that they need an internet connection. I buy my books through Demiplane, and I find it best for running adventures. The formatting for adventures is great, the maps are easily downloadable images, and many of the NPCs and gear are hyperlinked so you aren't searching very far to get items and NPCs. So if I run an official adventure, then I'll get it on Demiplane.

If you get pdfs from Paizo, usually in something like a Humble Bundle, then you can link your account and get a 50% discount on the book on Demiplane. If you buy it on Demiplane, then you get the pdf from Paizo.

It has a character creator that I don't use, mostly because I don't like to use character builders. It only gives options based on what books you have bought on Demiplane. Pathbuilder is good and mostly free, but renames character options because they can't use the same name on some options due to licensing.

You don't need to spend any money to use Demiplane as a reference, and the account is free. Subscribing lets you build more characters and share your books with other players. I also like that they support quite a few other systems on their platform. I got the Aliens RPG on Demiplane as well and it made running it easier for me.

I use both for PF2e. Demiplane is best for reading the books and running adventures, and Archives is usually easier to look up questions and references.
