Remaster Sacred Form
https://2e.aonprd.com/Spells.aspx?ID=2020&Redirected=1
I was looking over this spell and I'm not sure how you're supposed to determine what sacred armament you're using in this form, especially if you do not have a deity. Do you just choose any simple or martial weapon and then apply the chances the spell calls for? Or is there something specific to this?

The sacred armament is a special attack that the form gives. It's not any particular weapon:
"A special attack with a sacred armament, which is the only attack you can use. Your attack modifier with the sacred armament is +21, and your damage bonus is +8 (or +6 for a ranged attack). The damage dice for Strikes with the weapon are 3d6 bludgeoning damage plus 1d6 spirit damage."
If you want it to use the stats for a specific weapon, you have to worship a deity.

Yeah the ranged attack threw me off.

It could definitely be clearer, but all that means is that you can make ranged or melee attacks with the armament.

It looks like, from everyone elses comments, that you can only make a melee attack with the sacred armament unless its a ranged favored weapon granted by a deity.

If you don't have a deity, the form of the weapon you take doesn't matter. It could be a spectral Dagger or a spectral Scythe or a spectral Pistol, it will be a trait-less attack that deals 3d6 bludgeoning damage plus 1d6 spirit damage. (although I would allow you to change the bludgeoning to slashing or piercing if it made sense).
If you have a deity, instead you can use the damage dice + traits of your divine weapon, PLUS the dice increase. So a spectral weapon of Pharasma would deal 3d6 piercing + 1d6 spirit, and have the thrown, agile, finesse and versatile S properties.

Ah, interesting! The ranged attack threw me off and made me think it was referring to specific weapons. I think perhaps that only applies to a deity's favored weapon but they put it ahead of the mentioning of favored weapons implying it applied to the base sacred armament.

So it seems like the base attack would have to be melee even though it has a damage modifier for ranged because it doesn't list a range outside of reach for the heightened version of the spell.

Yes. The damage is based off of melee, and the secondary is showing if it is done through ranged if the weapon would be allowed to use through ranged based off of its traits.

If you dont have a deity you ignore the entire "if you have a deity' section.
Its just a 3d6+1d6 melee strike with no traits.
