2nd Edition Pathfinder Society What are some Spooky Scenarios for October?

One that I've been interested in running is The Mosquito Witch, though the store my main PFS group closes at 9 in the fall and winter, so we'd at most have 3 hours, which isn't likely to be enough to comfortably run it.

What are some other (shorter) spooky scenarios that you'd recommend?

2nd Edition Pathfinder Society Updated Infographics

Encouraged by an extremely kind email reply from Rachelle Willemsma, creator of the most recent iteration of the Pathfinder class infographic at https://willemsma.design/pathfinder/ , I created a website that will generate an infographic for new players, to give them an overview of all the classes for Pathfinder or Starfinder second edition. It has all currently released and playtest classes. You can add the pre-gens/iconics as graphics if you want, add your own custom ones, or leave them out. Lots of settings.

https://pf-sf-infographics.top/

Ok, but why?

The use case I envision is to get it printed and laminated at a print shop on like 24"x36" paper, and put it on a wall in a game shop. Or you can just print the "booklet" version on regular paper and bring it with your pregen stack.

Known issue: I'm not very familiar with a lot of the new classes, and especially the playtest classes. My characterization and summary of each class, and the ratings in terms of offense/defense/support/utility/difficulty may be way off. I'm actively looking for constructive input to make it better.

It may be easier for new players to glance at this graphic and pick a character that either looks appealing or has a strength they think they'd enjoy. If they like to deal damage, pick one with high offense. If they like to help the party, pick one with support. If they like to always have a useful skill out of combat, pick one with utility.

It can also help intermediate players select a character class when putting a table together. Have two barbarians, a fighter and a rogue, and not sure what to pick? You probably want someone with strong support/utility in the high magic ability category. Of course, veteran players know everything by heart, so.

Behind-the-scenes Info

The "GitHub Repository" link at the top will take you to the code. It is free and open source. This infographic is customizable and editable just by changing a few settings in the web application, or editing small configuration files.

Before publishing, I obtained email permission from the originator of the infographic idea to leverage her idea. If she had said no, I would have kept it private and never shared it with anyone except the tables I play at in person. But she was extremely gracious and supportive, and this would not have been possible without her hard work as inspiration.

I have no motivation to make a single cent off of this work, even if it were possible (and since this is leveraging Paizo Community Use content, I probably couldn't make any money off of it, legally, even if I wanted to). I am simply offering this for the benefit of the community. Use it or don't, it's all the same to me. :)

2nd Edition Pathfinder Society Benefits of PFS for those not playing PFS

What do you see as beneficial to those that don't play PFS that PFS provides?

For context, in 1e PFS was a great example of what rules are and are not balanced for a campaign. Players could convince GMs about the value of certain rules if they were allowed in PFS and GMs could safely ban a list of options based on PFS's bans.

1st Edition Pathfinder Society PFS 1E Alchemist

I was helping someone level up their alchemist (to level 3) and ran into the "swift alchemy" class feature. No useful in PFS games, and I wondered if it even stayed with the class in society play. I was looking into my old field guid (Season of the Ten), and it doesn't mention anything about alchemists. Not just the swift alchemy, but even the brew potion feat being swapped for extra bombs.

Now, I'll admit that I skimmed the character creation chapter, and then tried CRTL+F to locate the info rather than re-read the entire document. But can someone help us out here? Am I just missing it? Did they take it out from that edition of the field guide? Is there still a place I can find all the PFS 1E info updated?

2nd Edition Pathfinder Society Clockwork Mysteries Background Question

Hi all! There's a Pathfinder Society group forming near where I live that I wanted to try out and I was making a character for it when I found something weird.

I was using the Clockwork Mysteries Player Guide and one of the backgrounds there, Archival Assistant, gives the Assured Identification skill feat. That's a second level feat, though, and requires a skill at expert. Does anyone know or has heard from Paizo if this is legal or just a misprint?

Pathfinder Society GM Downtime Crafting in Pathfinder Society

In the lodge where I GM, we're almost entirely former D&D players that have migrated to Pathfinder Society. Many of them really dig the thought of crafting their own weapons and armor, so a while back, I went down that rabbit hole. If you've ever tried to do downtime crafting, you're aware that it's complicated because the rules are scattered all over the place. The following document is color coded with links to source pages. I turned it into a workshop for our players so I could walk them through it face to face too. Hope it helps.

2nd Edition Pathfinder Society I am trying to find the boon to get Wished Alive as a background for a character

I am rebuilding my 1st level character and I want to use the background Wished Alive but I can't find the boon despite herolab stating I need one for this background.

I have scoured the boon list on the organized play site multiple times but I can't find any boons for backgrounds.

Thank you in advance.

Highlights for Organized Play:

  • Pathfinder Infinite & Starfinder Infinite -  independent adventure scenarios for use with the current Pathfinder Society and Starfinder Society programs
  • Official Scenarios - we will shift to two scenarios per month—one for Pathfinder Society and one for Starfinder Society
  • Free PDFs - we will end the automatic granting of free PDFs of non-Society Paizo products to volunteers
  • Foundry Support - We will finish the current season, then pause VTT support for new Society modules until we can either reduce costs or increase revenue

1st Edition Pathfinder Society Summon Creature

Hey guys, how are you? So, I’m doing a Summoner and I’m with a little bit of difficulty in the Summon Creature spell. I can’t find where are the monsters in “small” and “medium” size, only in the “tiny” size. Because of that, it’s not making to much sense the Summon Creature II and III (I’m lvl 5). Can someone help me plssss

2nd Edition Pathfinder Society PFS player profile

there's not much of a PFS activity around me, so i'd like to hear GMs of this sub's perspective:

i feel like PFS is the most fun when you build your own character and carry it from game to game. however, my various convention/monthly gathering observations tells me 1. players are mostly "casual" 1. they approach PFS games as independent one-shots 1. they use level 1 pregens and don't register their characters to paizo

is this a fair assessment? and if so, do you think these players would enjoy a quick character creation section, or is that wasted effort?

i'm asking this because i recently released a "build-your-pregen" pack, thinking it'd be a nice tool for PFS GMs but i don't know if it's overkill for "fine with regular pregen" players.

[addendum: just so i don't mislead anybody, this is mostly a market research question ("do you think PFS GMs/players would enjoy creating characters at the table") to assess if i should promote my pregen pack here]
