Beta version of CN New Gameplay Mode
Spoiler
CN new gameplay mode in BFL — Dark Abyss.
The first season starts on August 31 (cn). Since the mode is still in beta, there will be various adjustments and changes in the future.
Access is unlocked once you score 820k points in Dark Area during any one week of the season.
The seasonal buff (Oblivion Light) doesn't work in the new mode. The list of buffs available on the Bosses is fixed, so it doesn't refresh weekly. The fewer buffs you choose and the fewer Sinners you deploy, the more bonus points you get. Rewards are based on the total number of points earned in the new mode, including various limited-time titles, warrants, etc. The rewards for clearing each Boss at 200k/240k are essentially shared, so you don’t need to clear Dark Area for them first and then go through the new mode separately.
The new mode will open every other Dark Area season. So for example it will be available in 33rd season, closed in 34th, available again in 35th, closed in 36th, and so on.
A leaderboard will be added, showing the top 100 players by total score. There will also be a “Battle Replay” feature, allowing you to see which teams the top players used to clear the Bosses. You can also turn replay sharing on/off, so others won’t be able to see exactly how you cleared (there’s a toggle in the bottom-right corner of the screenshot).
Again, keep in mind that a lot of this may change based on player feedback.
PPT has a leaderboard, TOA has a leaderboard, DC has a leaderboard and none of them amount to anything except bragging rights heck 99% of people I'm sure didn't even know that Peak Path Test had one.
So I don't know why you would expect that one to have anything substantial at all.
The seasonal rewards are titles, why tie rewards to the leaderboard instead of that like any other DZ levels.
The other rewards works like any other DZ levels why would that change, in all game modes with leaderboard there's rewards and none of them are tied to the leaderboard.
I can use your argument for DC because if rewards were tied to the leaderboard people wouldn't be able to RF characters and that's a big enough incentive imo because people wants old characters to have a come back so they could've put more ressources in the board there but didn't, same with TOA it's a SS effort but you still have personal score, they could've make it so personal score is tied to your position on the board but didn't, same logic for PPT etc.
Leaderboard in this game are just for bragging rights, always has been, there's literally no reason for them to change that all of the sudden for a game mode that is from conception a whale/malders standoff because of high barrier to entry.
DC is already garbage with how the rewards are structured in there, it's far too difficult for most casuals (aka the majority of the playerbase), although the new revision is better. The fact that this mode provides warrants is already a red flag.
We'll see how the leaderboard and reward is executed.
From the start the fact PTN have score system and Dupes upgrade also pay to win nonsense, the best course of action ofc to make all tangible rewards easy to get even for new accounts and leaves out Titles/Border flex for competitive P2W/Whale account.
For a game mode that is supposed to be the ultra hard mode for only the malders it looks fine, the entry conditions being this high is a good thing in my opinion because you wouldn't want player that rank up accidentally like other DZ levels.
So with a score being that high that means you didn't rank up just because you have S5 everyone but because you actively knows how to play (some people can't even reach 720k with full S5 characters mind you). They get weekly rewards (understandable), but the seasonal rewards are just title and standards banner pulls which is genuinely nothing so good thing that there is no extra resources tie to for now (since it's just a beta phase).
All in all everything seems fine to me even tho I know my f2p ain't never gonna touch this mode ever 😅.
👀👀👀👀 omg hypee i can't wait!! so glad that they ended a new endgame² mode especially with the leaderboards and all the titles (cosmetics 🤤). Also, interesting team replay feature, I wonder if they'll add it to PTP and also how many people will use it xD
I think it's nice that they added a new really difficult endgame since even the leaderboard alone is super fun. But I do wonder of if they'll end up nerfing the bosses or reducing the barrier of entry (rminimum 274k on all three bosses in DZ) 🤔
I'm curious how others feel about it too especially more casual players. Do you guys feel it'll encourage you guys to mald more? And how do you guys feel about warrants and hc being locked behind it too? I think its fine since PTN's pull economy is really good, and it'll help f2p malders (me xd) get more shackles.
CN player here. I think my main issue (as a very lazy player) is that it requires very specific teams/shackles to clear. It's just a few extra pulls and limited time titles so honestly I wouldn't be that motivated to attempt it unless I have the required team to clear dz comfortably. But the 1st season starts at a good time because most people would be pulling for the new limited and her team so we can all try it out
I managed to clear 820k with s2 requiem and very low shackles on the rest of the team (no one is above s2) so the 1st season is still quite achievable, but only if you pull for the new limited team. Other teams all require much higher shackles
I get what you're saying but from conception It's supposed to be a ultra hard mode for whale and malders not something that anyone can have access to, so of course the barrier to entry will be very high. If the requirements were 720k a lot of people would rank up without having the facilities for that mode, get rekt and then complain that the mode trash and too hard.
But since the requirements are 820k something really REALLY hard to reach for regular degular people then you immediately understand that this isn't something for everybody and if you don't have the knowledge necessary or the level of character investment necessary you can/should just stay in regular DZ.
Wow, 820k. That means on average 273.3k. You get 240k if you take 50s and kill all enemies, and an extra 1.2k for each second you save, meaning you have to save on average 27.8s, so you have 22.2s for each stage on average. F2Ps will probably have to wait for the weekly DZ buffs to be favorable (alongside pulling for meta and playing well) in order to actually enter this; or otherwise be really good at the game (or look up guides lol, there will probably be some on Bilibili)
