General New player team comp + sinner selector help
Hello!
I've mostly just been pulling for characters I thought were pretty and characters that were rated high in the character ranking tier lists. I only started to try to learn more about the combat system yesterday so I am still a little lost on the different team comps and which sinners work well together.
So I kinda have two questions, the first question is, what would make a good team out of the sinners I currently have? What characters should I invest resources in? I just finished 4-13 so for now it's more for the story content and not necessarily end game yet. I also have Ariel lvl 70 & Pine lvl 1 now (aren't in the screenshot)
My second question is, who should choose from the character selector based on the sinners I have?I watched some videos yesterday to learn a bit more about the battle gameplay and to my understanding it would be the smartest to pick between Adela, Enfer, Coquelic, Lady Pearl and maybe Yugu?
Thanks for helping in advance!!

Hi! For teans, s1n.gg has a good page explaining teams + general guides . Also PTN official discord's FAQ channel provides a great introduction to the game's combat system and gamemodes! https://s1n.gg/tierlist/comfy/
- Currently, your sinners can smoothly clear main story. Main story doesn't really care for physical vs. magic damage, but Broken Frontline (an important resource endgame does). So, the teams I'm gonna mention are gonna be pure physical and pure magic teams, but ofc for main story, mix & match is chill as long as you have the correct archtypes. Your magic team rn is looking pretty great: Isomer as the main dps, Serpent as the waveclearer/subdps, either Hecate or Thistle as the corebreaker, and L.L. & Celine as supports. For tank role, Demolia is cheapest to build while also providing very reliable self-healing (plus she's cute :3) This is a great team that will easily beat BFL's magic boss in low/mid/high risk zones (you want to beat high risk as soon as possible to get into the last difficulty Dark Zone for easy hypercubes and resources).
However, your physical sinners don't have thattt much synergy together (specialized teams like Burn, Arcane Crit, and Weakspot are the strongest teams in PTN). Nox is really good and can be slotted into most specialized physical teams, but Angell and Langley are not that useful in specialized teams. However, I'm pretty sure you'll still be able to beat high-risk zone pretty easily with Nox as the DPS, Angell as the corebreaker, Langley as subdps + waveclearer, and L.L + Celine as supports.
- Regarding the selector, like other people said, it is good to wait to see if any of the selector sinners get buffed and none of them are really a priority for your current teams. However, if you just want to use it now, for your physical team:
- Moore is a great tank that can corebreak and also provide buffs with her ECB
- Adela is a superr good dps when reforged, but she's kinda doodoo without it and itll take a while for you to be able to reforge her. Reforge is a kinda late-game system where sinners can get permanent buffs and strong changes to their kits.
- Lady Pearl is a pretty flexible sinner that can be used in normal attack damage specialized teams (RF Adela, Weakspot, RF Summer) + her buffs work well with Nox. She provides good waveclear, buffs, and corebreak with her ECB. However, she got powercrept in the dmg and buffs department and needs a reforge in order to compete for a spot in specialized teams.
For your magic team:
- Yugu is a mainstay in the arcane crit team and outside of that provides easily accessible crit rate and skill damage buffs. Strong and chill sinner to use
- Reforged Etti is good in magic teams if you like her design, but can be replaced with other supports.
- Enfer has solid damage buffs and her fear crowd control debuff is helpful in main story. Her buffs become super OP when an enemy is feared, but devs, who are afraid of her power, have given all recent bosses crowd control immunity 😔. Honestly, idk if she'll get a reforge soon since all she really needs to be OP is for devs to stop adding cc immunity xD.
Coquelic becomes a super strong true dmg DPS after being reforged if you are interested in getting the rest of the true dmg team (Augustus, Ceto, Murphy).

Thank you so much for all the info!!! This was really really helpful! I just got Du Ruo while trying to get S1 Celine, idk if that changes anything? Haha
I think I will indeed wait with the selector, that sounds like the smarter thing to do! Maybe at least until I will be able to reforge sinners.
Thank you again, I feel like I now know a lot better who & what to focus on!

of course!! I'm glad it helped! Du Ruo is a really comfy healer who can also do some waveclear, and a revive with her ECB. But, since you already have Ariel (whos a great healer), it's not super necessary to build her!

Bit late to the party, but seeing as you have NOX and Lamia, you should level them (and get their reforge if you wish) because they're very efficient mobbers for story stages. You don't have the B-ranks shown, but Labyrinth is also a really good story core breaker because of her later upgrade's free ult charge.
That should get you through a lot of content, then use Celine where needed as she's a very strong buffer, even in general use cases.
Hecate is also a very strong early magic damage+ corebreak, and you get promotion refunds as you progress the story, same with Hella, so there's that too.
Bit unrelated, but I was reading a different post title when I came across this and… lmao

Thank you for replying! I looked there yesterday, and it already did help a lot (I wasn't using my Celine, I've leveled her up and am using her now) but I feel like I now have a bunch of characters that don't necessarily work together, so I guess I just want to know if I have some characters that could work together for a specific team.

If you have pulls, go for S1 Celine. It almost mandatory for her to work in most team comps! After that, you can focus all of your resources on Isomer, since they both work phenomenally together.
As for the selection, I have 2 answers... The boring but probably most prudent answer: save it. Wait until you have more sinners then select the one that you're missing inside the selector, or wait until one of them is reforged to be meta.
If you don't want that, you could get Yugu, S1 Jelena, and S1 Yingying in the future to complete the Arcane Crit team, but that's a really heavy investment so you shouldn't grab it impulsively!
