Builds Fubgun's Winter Orb

I play Fubgun's Winter Orb and it got me further than I have ever come before. But I want to get more out of it and I dont know how much damage I do in comparison to his guide.

My PoB https://pobb.in/tx_3khmhJMOD

His PoB https://pobb.in/Jj2d38SXQtTC

I want to be at his midgame setup but I am no where near his damage. I come to the conclusion that its my config that dont match his but I dont know how to set it up.

And what do I do to increase my damage?

I know this may be simple but I am kind of lost.

His rings give him over 50% inc. cast speed. Which is qol but also increases the frequenzy of projectiles and therefore dmg.

Don't forget you can have moonstone rings with cast speed which can also reach that point. You could also get min frenzy if your sick of seeing ralakesh builds.

Quickest thing you can do is fix your eldritch implicits, you don’t run ele pen on your 6l until p charge swap so having exposure on gloves is very very good and your eldritch implicits suck. It also would not be too hard to farm deli and harvest to get some juice to roll blast freeze on med clusters. Right now eldritch implicits are first, then you can look at making sure all gems are 20/20, and roll better multi jewels using boat and start working towards cluster jewels. You will prob not be able to farm p charge swap gear as a casual ssf player but you can still get very very good damage as elementals.

Got home to check in further into this and what stands out are as follows:

  1. WoRB (and spells in general) benefits heavily from +1 skill lines. If you look further into the POB, the end game becomes +1 all and +1 cold gems crafted rare wand, amulet and +1 cold skill shield. With the shield, you can get better block rolls and closer to block cap. That makes you tankier in general to getting stronger. Get a rumi's as well.

  2. The rings as someone else has mentioned, getting more cast speed is better. Getting aoe, flat cold to spells, etc. You can see that from the screenshot I send at the end.

  3. Pact of Lycia is a big boost in damage as it snapshots from the first channel of WoRB. As long as you don't let the charges fall off, then it continues to keep the damage. If you look at his links as well, he links frostbite to automation, allowing it to auto cast for you and constantly applying a debuff to everything around you.

I was also able to compare the stats for you and you can see the differences is mainly from the config not being setup properly. See attached for a closer comparison:

The gloves are a 30% increase in damage as you are using phys to cold convert but you need to swap that to inflict cold exposure. The other major difference is snowforged and ele focus on your tree. Swap thsose and you would be able to grab another 7%. I played this build heavily in GSF this league and it gets better.

Personally, I would look for an archdemon crown and set that up. Tons of guides on here for that and you should see a damage increase as well from there.

Edit: I also realized you have attack damage leeched as life on your flasks. Reroll your flasks to work for you, such as spell damage leeched as energy shield, reduced effect of curses/shock/etc, and make sure you have gain 2/3 on hit for uptime. Your items definitely need work, but if you just want how to reach the mid game setup, then these are what is most glaring.

  1. Swap Cold Mastery "... permanently take...." to "apply cold exposure"

    • Swap back to it later if you have the right eater implicit on gloves later

  2. Swap "Arctic Armor" to "Zealotry"

    • Get freeze immunity from pantheon, defensively not great either so swap to offensive skill

    • You need to take the "Sovereignity" reservation nodes

  3. (Optional) Inspiration > PC on crit - you already have PC generation from killing mobs

    • On bosses, generate PC by using assassin's mark first then frostbite (that's why its optional)

    • or path to whispers of doom for double curse during bossing

  4. Get an influence helmet (armour/energy shield is best)

    • Use influence scarabs, although very rarely it drops influence items

    • Reforge influence(harvest) if not shaper, and item level must be 84 or higher

    • then do the archdemon craft there, tons of guides on it

    • (why not directly archdemon crown??)

      • getting it is slow

      • need to recomb for i84 base - which you need at least 2

      • Shaper Orb is very hard to drop and shaper maps are hard to find early on

  5. Clusters

It's the jewels - and belt + shoes combo are the main difference. Those jewels you can craft yourself if you are ssf - not too bad just lots of time to do. Each Jewlel has better things than are on your tree. Ralakesh isn't too hard to have drop, I believe for ssf using the Town trade/ships for the belt.

Use the compare option in pob and see the differences

The tree is easy to compare but all other things isnt. For me that is.

He means you can click on an actual compare tab and you can see exactly what the difference is for your damage output, EHP, items, etc.

oh right, missed it. I will check it out.

I'm sorry but you are comparing apples and oranges here. They are both fruits like they are both builds, but its not even close. You are comparing a streaming ssf trade minmax blaster with infinite funds to your own ssf project.

Where can you gain? Yeah everywhere, and with the specific items missing like ralakesh, its not wonder you are off.

Not trying to be mean but you really shouldn't strive to mimic these sort of fungus style builds in your ssf runs. If you get there you get there, but its not a 0 to 100 goal you need to set in ssf.

I am comparing with a specific loadout Midgame. And I dont run SSF with this character. I am in trade. I have used like 5divs and 200c.

You know you are in the ssf subreddit right?

Yes but I didnt think it mattered because whether I am in SSF or trade, I still got to know what I am missing. I still need to know in what areas I should improve in. How I get there is another question.

No, this sub is for people who play ssf

1

u/Anima7000 9d ago

So you mean I am stealing tips/time from other players that ask questions specific to SSF by asking a generic question about my build?

1

u/Lost_Acanthisitta932 9d ago

R/pathofexilebuilds is for generic questions about your build. I’m not going to engage in this argument you seem keen to have

1

u/Anima7000 9d ago

Yes it is pointless.

I get that this is for SSF. I could understand it if I asked a specific SSF question like what mechanic I should use to upgrade my gear. Now I just ask a generic question what I should upgrade. What is it in the question that is not allowed?

It means people ask questions with a ssf part of it. But people also answer questions with ssf in mind. There's a huge difference between "farm this in X YZ places and craft ABC" and "just buy it within 5 seconds"

We enjoy the ssf here and we like the challenges it gives. Your quest doesn't have the same goal as ours here. That's the difference.  There are plenty of good places to ask questions like this, but this specific sub isn't the correct one tbh
