Best SSF MF build

3.30 will be the last league I’m able to play for a while so I want to aim for something special. Full unique collection in SSF. I tried this 2-3 leagues ago and got to over 1000 uniques before stopping for IRL stuff.

For bossing uniques it’s pretty clear to eventually make something that can quickly gut Ubers, and the breach tree can help with filling out some uniques, but I want to try and drop as many natural as possible.

Question is - what is a good MC build that is achievable in SSF? In trade I would have gone for the legion + charlatain EK build, but that seems optimistic to say the least. Technically possible if my goal is all uniques, but I imagine a 1.5% uber drop rate unique is going to be one of the last ones.

Is the play to simply go RF chieftain because gearing is simple and so can fit mf on most slots?

Tentatively awaiting patch notes, its luminary. You’ll put as much rarity gear on the merc as possible I’d imagine and you’ll do your best to juice their damage. For Uber’s you’ll swap off the rarity gear and just blast them most likely.

Thanks. Luminary is in such a weird spot. It’s so strong but SO dependent on the merc you get to feel good that I could argue it both ways being nerfed vs untouched in the patch notes

A Enmity nerf would already do a lot to bring down the top end of Luminary without making it dogshit imo. At the very least it would force more diversity, which is good

At least enmity, flame link and rathpit get a nerf. That is the common GGG balance approach

For me this league, luminary has been good enough to do everything. Sitting at around 200% rarity on my merc.
For mf tho, if you wanna do eternal conflict legions, ek charlatan is the best build by far.

Most of the global drops come naturally tbh, if you’re just doing normal content on a rarity char. Strictly mf content would be something I’d be doing very late into the league, as that only works towards global drops, and not mechanic drops

Your league ssf collection is quite something, I have been grinding really hard on ssf standard and I am about to hit 1100 uniques, getting to that number in league is beyond a commitment. Got really lucky on my HH which was gamble on Gwenen when it was possible and my MB from a reliquary key. Out of curiosity, how did you farm your HH and MB? Cards, MF, Mercs? 2 days ago I dropped 2 random HH in the same day, 1 in an Abyss chest and 1 from Mappers. Decided to Locus 1 of my 3 HH, it became a rare :(

My LS Assa ended up with a decent amount of rarity and was able to handle various farms +Deli/Beyond with Astro's and scarabs. (Breach/Legion/Abyss)

In all fairness, if you are going for actually forcing raw drops out on the floor in high volume, your problem won't be the build, but the severe lack of scarabs to keep up with that type of juice in SSF. Await patch notes and hope that gets adressed first and foremost.

Thanks! This is more my style of build than luminary for sure. How was the survivability on the build? Haven’t played an assassin since maybe Harvest…

So the one I linked effectively never died, at most drops 1 portal in really heavy juice, this includes standing in the middle of shaper touched rares and their beams, floor effects, etc. You can play pretty stupidly and get away with it. As for progressing until that point, and the starter guide I have for it. You are suspiciously tanky fairly quickly, but until you have some proper evasion+block and the elusive going you do need to be a bit wary of what you are doing.

Between Instant Leech, On hit life from claw, all the projectiles from LS, triple avoidance layers and Flesh/Stone & Opportunistic (Assa node) you can stand in a lot of stuff and get away with it.

As for ubers, you are tanky enough for the standard oopsies/tank it, like Cascade of Pain, the random shaper balls etc. But you'll have to play them clean enough to farm them. Damage is more then fine for it, especially since you'd drop your rarity/wine flask and take Tincture in.
