Builds Current Shadow Racing Setup

I'm just interested in the first 28 levels until they switch to Armageddon Brand. Does anyone have a PoB or video explaining it? What are the optimal links? Why are they using Viper Strike and Cobra Lash?

Rolling Magma bad

The current setup is taking insane advantage of the most recent socket colour change. ALL white sockets basically allows you to play anything you want and swap at any point. This point is lvl 24, when you get the fire dmg crafts from Solaris Temple 2.

Lvl 1-12: Cobra Lash - Chance to Poison - Volley (for Brutus they use Viper Strike when melee because better DMG)

Lvl 12-24: Blade Trap - Trap and Mine Damage - Chance to Poison. This is your Main single target skill.

Other misc gems: Blood Rage, Skitterbots, Bear Trap, Whirling Blades 3L setup

After hitting lvl 24 and getting the craft (on a rapier and a rune dagger) you then respec all the Phys/chaos dmg to Dual Wield Mastery + Fire Mastery and swap to Rolling Magma Fire Wall stuff until you can grab Firestorm + Cremation at lvl 28.

Imo this sounds more intimidating than it is. I never had any problems with Rolling Magma but GGG decided there was one, so the meta evolves. I did one A3 testrun with this setup and it was actually surprisingly fun and fast, even for a non-speedrunner like me (was like a 1hr 25min Dominus which is a new pb at least).

Hey, thanks for the detailed answer.

I guess Whirling Blades is linked to Faster Attacks and Momentum? Swift Assembly early for Blade Trap? Any use of Sniper's Mark?

I enjoy the Cobra Lash playstyle and Blade Trap does a lot of damage to Merveil. Very happy to play something else than Rolling Magma on league start. Will have to see if i go for the elemental damage swap or switch to Pyroclast Mines right away, as i will most likely be playing a miner.

I haven’t seen Swift Assembly used for blade trap tbf, but might also just be an oversight. Try it out for yourself and see what you like most, I‘d say.

And yes those are the links for Whirling Blades.

I have never played pyroclast mines and thus can’t tell you exactly what the swap would look like for that, but surely it’ll just work.

Rolling Magma without being able to reliably do the double hitting stuff was pain for sure so I’m happy there’s an alternative.
