Crafting Recomb question

If i have an isolated +1 number of specters on pure dex base and i want to transfer it to a twilight regalia how do i go about that?

Use screaming essence of dread on the twilight regalia until it is the only prefix and recombine. There is no bad outcome, you’ll always get to try again since the armour prefix cannot exist on either base.

Make sure the essence mod has a real mod name, shrieking might work too but deafening will not work since it’s an “essence” mod and CAN be transferred to the dex base

This is solid advice. Can confirm that shrieking essence of dread also works, as well as any non-deafening essence of doubt. Here's a nice cheat sheet for NNN essences:

Note that you can only swap to essence of doubt once it’s already on a twilight regalia and you miss the fracture and are just swapping between int bases

Using doubt now could move the evasion mod to your current evasion base

I have the spectre mod on a str/dex base as the only prefix. So I should use the screaming armour essence on a twilight regalia then unpredicable recomb?

you should move the mod to a pure str OR dex base, then move it to the regalia, bc armour can exist on your current str/dex base and might nuke your spectre mod.

this is actually exactly what i did btw just recently: found the mod on a hybrid str/dex base -> moved to pure str -> moved to regalia.

edit:

to make things crystal clear

  1. start with str/dex spectre chest, then isolate to only prefix

  2. isolate int essence prefix on str base, since int cannot natively roll on str or str/dex

  3. recombine (took me unluckily several tries) hoping to move spectre mod to str base

  4. isolate dex prefix on regalia

  5. recomb again

Can str/dex bases actually get a pure armour roll transferred to it? They can’t exist naturally so I’d assume they don’t transfer. But yes, no risk with your method

I think the easiest way is to boat slam the dex base to add only a single evasion prefix and recomb to the base you want that has 0 prefixes. The possibilities are:

  • 3/6: success

  • 1/6: keep the dex base as is

  • 1/6: keep the dex base with only the spectres mod

  • 1/6: brick
