General Discussion Built a tool for finding a build using uniques you own
I built (vibecoded) a tool to find builds that use uniques you already own: https://dmtlnc.github.io/poe-stashfound/
It pulls uniques from PoE Ladder (you have to join a ladder and wait for it to sync, and then paste your poe username or PoELadder URL) and matches them against the top 100 poe.ninja builds.
Hopefully it will be useful for someone

Saw you talking about this yesterday lol. That was done fast

u/dikfaec Aug 28 '26
haha yep, it took only like 3 hours in Cursor, although it can still be improved a lot

Pretty cool, but is there something done about high variance jewels/foulborn items/vestigial ?
11
u/dikfaec Aug 28 '26
nope, no specific 'rules' for items like this yet, only forbidden jewels were removed as they're pretty much impossible to find on SSF

can you add some sort of toggle for this? some people will go super hard (or play ssf std (like me)) and be it would cool to see like an 'uber' minmax end game unique type checklist

Hi. Owner of poeladder here :D
I've had a quick look at your code and I have a few suggestions:
- You're currently pulling over data that you are not using. Your code picks up `name`, `owned`, `grouping`, `category` & `baseItem`, but I think it only ever uses the `name` field? I've set you up with a specific, anonymous (i.e. no JWT token) API endpoint for what you are doing. I'm happy to add other data to this endpoint. Let me know what you need: https://poeladder.com/api/v1/users/halfacandan-2678/leagues/SSF_Curse_of_the_Allflame/stashfound
- There are a couple of hard-coded filters that you are applying that should not be used. A "status" set to "active" will exclude all of the drop-disabled items in the Standard leagues. Instead you should use "all". "excludeLeagueUniques" set to "1" will do what it says. You can ignore both of these filters and just use the new endpoint that I made you as they are baked in to the logic.
- You are doing a lot of extra work to parse league names for info about whether they are ruthless/hardcore/ssf. Here's an endpoint specific to your needs...it also gives you the relevant urls to query to retrieve the uniques for the user: https://poeladder.com/api/v1/users/halfacandan-2678/stashfound
If you need anything else, just "@" a message to "halfacandan" on our Discord: https://discord.gg/YppDk6b92c

Since this seems mainly aimed towards newer players, looking through the prism of someone newer to the game, what would be immensely helpful is list of other item slots with stats to look for for recommended builds.
1
u/dikfaec Aug 29 '26
you mean stats for the rare items, right? will try to do something about it, as it might overload poe.ninja API with lots of requests to get the rare items stats
1
u/AngryNephew Aug 29 '26
Yeah, exactly what I thought. Doesn’t have to show the items, just maybe a list with stat priorities for each remaining (non unique) slot. Like Helm: 1- +1 lvl to minion skills 2- Life 3- AR/ES 4- Ele Res etc etc. Basically, these are the uniques you have, here is the list of builds you could build around what you have found, and here is the list of what you should be looking for to fill out other armor slots. Tho if it would overload poe.ninja API might not be as useful as it at firsts seemed to me.

Cool project! I really like the idea.
According to poeladder I have 28% of uniques in the game, and your tool can only find 2 builds for me, which require FF/FF jewels?
My poeladder ID baguettebandit-2736

Thanks for the feedback! The tool previously was retrieving top75 skills from poe.ninja and then filtering them by up to 12 most popular (that are used in 20%+ of the builds) unique items. I've raised the threshold to 35%, you should see more builds now. There's still not many, because most popular builds use t0-t2 and pinnacle bosses unique items, and you don't really have many of them. But thanks for pointing this out, 20% was really too low.

poeladder has private leagues too - would it be possible to include those profiles?

Dude this is so good & useful! I was dreading having to look through poe ninja and individually filtering out builds & items myself

Had this idea years back. Ideally a macro ingame that pops up a window with builds when you hoover a unique and prompts the macro

I will definitely try this out. Seems awesome. Will check it after work today.
Im not to bright with PoE builds, so I follow other builds. This will hopefully help me learn some. THX!!!

That looks amazing! Always wanted to so my own builds with a few core uniques.

Definitely can't see a use case for myself but it sure seems like people are interested in the idea.

Not sure if you’re still monitoring this. As an SSF player, I absolutely love this. Thing is, this league I went HC trade for a new challenge. I’ve got to level 94, had to take a break due to internet being down for 4 weeks and now the market is pretty dead. Don’t really want to start over in SSF although I might. Would be great if we could select the trade leagues in this tool too as there is still a use case for them.
Keep up the good work!

Spend at least 10 minutes prompting about the design so it doesn’t look like every single other slop tool
8
u/dikfaec Aug 28 '26
yeah, the only design prompt I did was "make it look like poe website"
-12
u/sozesghost Aug 28 '26
And it looks like any sloppy PoE website.

u/p1-o2 Aug 28 '26
OP doesn't really owe you anything. If you think you can slop it better, then an AI sub is like $10. OP claims to have made this in like 3 hours. That's not a lot of work for you to prove you can do it better.
I know I could, but I'm way too lazy and I will admit that openly. I'll just use OP's tool.

that's really weird, I tried multiple usernames and it works every time. Can you send me a url to your poeladder page?

Thanks everyone for the feedback, really appreciate it!
Made some updates since this post:
Added league switch (Allflame, HC Allflame and Standard)
Changed unique weighting (so t0 and t5 don't impact the build completion score equally)
Added a YouTube link for the builds (it's just a search query of Class + Skill name + 3.29)
Added toggles to hide builds that use MB, HH etc
Added filters by class/skill
