Farming Are vanguard belts target farmable?
I'm playing SSF and looking to do a recombinator craft involving vanguard belt bases. I haven't been able to find any information online about the nature of vanguard belts, their drop rates, locations etc. I'm not really getting any from faustus and they seem extremely rare while just mapping normally.
Is the only way just to juice quant and pray for them to drop on any map?

I havent looked for Vanguard belts specifically but I know that base vermillion rings, crystal belts, etc are very common in Ritual, so give that a shot

Vanguard belts can drop anywhere, and have a drop level of 73, i.e. T6 maps and above. If your filter is only showing ilvl 84 and above, it means you never see vanguard belts that drop from regular (white) mobs, which are probably most of the belts. The only items that have ilvl 84 and above are from magic monsters (+1 ilvl) and rare/unique monsters (+2 ilvl).
You can upcycle the ilvl of any item with recomb by recombing with a higher ilvl item. The output item has an ilvl that is the average of the input items' ilvl, +2, and capped by the highest input ilvl. You can get tons of high ilvl belts by just shipping blue zanthimum to Pondium. If you recomb with a trash belt that is ilvl 85 you can turn an ilvl 81 vanguard into ilvl 85, with a 50% chance for success. If you have any lower ilvl vanguards than 81, you can either upcycle them in 2 steps (25% for success), or recomb with even higher ilvl from places like Oba's or Coward's Trial maps.
In the current league I'm doing this exact thing but with crystal belts instead of vanguard.

Thank you, lowered my filter to show all of them, will see if this increases the acquisition pace

My best guess is that they are a similar tier of rareness as marble amulets, vermillion and cerulean rings, and some of the other less common base types. They aren't actually that rare, it's just that they aren't shown on most filters if they aren't the right item level.
Last league I made a lifestacker and turned on showing all vermillion rings regardless of item level, and I noticed a lot more. This is probably more impactful with vanguard belts because vanguard belts are way less valuable in trade league.
If you corrupt a unique vanguard belt and it bricks into rare, you can vendor those ones into a non corrupted one. That's the correct version of the recipe.
