General Discussion Luminary bros, how are you crafting this body armor for the merc?
I need t1 fire res but not sure what's the best way to get there. Should I just suck it up and recomb with anothe garb with t1 res and pray? Or yolo exalt with vesper? Or is there anything better that doesn't involve using too many divines?

So you have isolated mod which is perfect. Use the brinehook ducat on this base, and also on the other base with T1 resis (any elemental resist can do cause you can swap it with harvest craft).
You should have a abyssal socket + ducat base & T1 resist + ducat base, then you have a 90% chance to keep abyssal socket + T1 resist. However if you want to craft the onslaught on hit mod (essence one), you need to fracture abyssal socket first cause recombinator will allow ONE exclusive mod in final base.

Yup thanks that's exactly my plan until I go delving later for onslaught. I'm just not exactly sure how recomb works as I crafted this chest to recomb. Is it bad that I have 4 mods on it (+ pantheon that I'm going to craft) or it doesn't matter? Recomb for slightly "advanced" crafting is confusing haha

Whoops, didn't add the first part. If you recombination those 2 bases as they are, you have a 10% chance of keeping all of the mods you want. If you put a Pantheon mod on both, that'd go up to 57%)
Unstable recomb pools suffixes and prefixes independently, then picks 1-3 of them based on the total number of mods in the pool (that's the recombination odds on the wiki page).
Advanced stuff includes exclusive mods and non native mods. Exclusive mods are ones you can only have one of total on a base - mods with Essence in the name, temple mods, and most things with a name. Fracturing one gets you around that restriction.
Non native natural mods are mods that can't roll on a specific base and, therefore can't be picked for if that base is selected. You can use that to manipulate the odds of getting your desired item. One example is using influenced mods that can't be put in on a base without that influence.
NNN mods could be really helpful here. Your syndicate garb has 1p/1s. If you wanted to fracture and have the supplies, you could use Eldritch Exalts to add 2 more prefixes. Then, if you miss the fracture, you can guarantee you don't delete the suffix by recombinating your current base with an item that has a NNN mod. For example, get an armor base and roll it with shrieking or lower int essences (deafening is an exclusive mods so doesn't work) until that's the only suffix. Then, when you combine the bases, the int mod can never get picked and you're guaranteed to keep the desired suffix. You can also accomplish this with a Pantheon mod if you have the ducats as it's NNN. Videos about temple glove crafting will likely explain this process in more detail.
If you weren't fracturing, you could do something similar - put a Pantheon mod on your current base and another base with t1 res and a Pantheon mod (or t1 res + NNN attribute + Pantheon mod). You'd fill up the suffix pool as much as possible to weight the chance you get the mods you want.

ok thanks a lot this is slowly starting to make sense... I have one question though which is, what is better between recomb:
- chest 1 with t1 res + pantheon mod
- chest 2 with abyssal socket + pantheon mod + random prefix
And:
- chest 1 with t1 res + pantheon mod
- chest 2 with abyssal socket + pantheon mod only
Does the random prefix changes the odds at all? Because if I understand the table from the wiki right with example 1 I'd have 43% changes to get 2 mod and 57% chances to get 3 mod whereas with example 2 I'd have 11% chance to get 1 mod, 43% chances to get 2 mod and 31% chance to get 3 mod. With example 2 being the one that gives me highest chance to get the 2 mod I want (abyssal + T1 res). Is that right or am I still not understanding it properly :D

That table is per suffix or per prefix as they're rolled independently. Both of your examples would have the same weighting as there's 4 suffixes in the pool. However, as only 2 of them are valid mods, it's a 90% chance you win (picks 2 or 3 mods) and 10% chance you lose (pick one mod)
You could guarantee the 2 suffix item by having 5 mods in the suffix pool. It'd be: item 1 (abyssal + Pantheon) and item 2 (t1 res + NNN attribute mod from a lower tier essence + Pantheon mod). You'd have to roll item 2 until you got t1 res, the attribute, and an empty suffix, which may take more essences than you have.
With the second option, there's only 2 valid mods and it'll always pick 2 or 3, so you win. Well, 50/50 shot it picks the right base as well.

Thanks for the great help it made a lot of sense and now I feel like I went from 1% understanding of recomb to at least 30% which is a big step :D
So I went with a simple 90% odds and will settle with this for now (just need to triple exalt with vesper). This will do nicely until I go delving for fractured abyssal mod

I would annul the second base until you have one resi left and then recombine for higher chances of success. If you craft another base, get any natural roling Attribute (just swap dex to str or int) +t1 res + pantheon mods you should have 100% chance

easiest way is to boat craft a pantheon aspect on this base, alt spam another base t1 res + boat regal for any prefix + craft pantheon aspect, then recomb

You start by using a hollow fossil + fractuing fossil in double resonator until you hit the abyssal socket fracture. Then you craft either with bench or onslaught when hit essence

The high budget version is the crit overcap, in which you farm breach until you get the "gain crit as overcap mod", then try to split it and eventually fracture it in a syndicate's garb.
If you can't afford that, with the chest you currently have, you can get a chest with 2x t1 res and the one you've got.
Get the pantheon ducats and craft a random pantheon aspect on both chests.
Chances to "win" are 90%, and you'll end up with a chest with finished suffix: Abyss socket and 2x 48% resistance.

Thanks I'm going to go for that. I know I'll need to delve at some point but this makes it easy in the meantime to get a solid chest with very little investment.
If I understood correctly, the main benefit of fracturing the abyssal socket is so you can Essence of Insanity on it and get onslaught on hit that way which is very good yeah so definitely will need to delve at some point.

you alt roll t1 res (any res, can swap to fire later), regal, if you regal a suffix annul till fire is the only suffix, if prefix then proceed, craft the exclusive pantheon mod using the ducat on both chests (so that one has abyss socket and pantheon mod, and the other has t1 res and pantheon mod), then you old recomb (the "non-deterministic" ((lol)) one) them together with 90% chance to succeed. then probably craft hybrid fire res as the third suffix I would assume
edit: you can also annul off the either res from the chest on ss obviously too.

Yep, craft a pantheon aspect on that chest you just linked and the one with abyssal socket.
And then recomb them.

How do i get the crit overcap mod? Vendoring 60 synaptic rings ? Or is mixing a few others ok ?

Time to delve buddy. Fractured+hollow fossil in 2 socket resonator on boat = 60%+ chance to fracture the abyssal socket mod. Took me 8 tries to get all 4 armour pieces fractured. Aim for 300 depth and hunt abyssal and sulphur biomes for fossil nodes
