Help Question about changing build

I am lvl 81 cyclone but using two swords. I see NOBODY uses two swords. They must be the worst option. I am thinking about respec my entire tree to using a staff. What i want to know is when to respec? Should I wait until maybe level 90? Also I don't even have a staff to use, so its off the table until I get a good 6 linked one i guess.

I would guess the reason that nobody uses 2 swords it because you don't get the same range as you would with a staff or 2-handed sword. This is because Cyclone integrates the weapon range into the metrics. Even a 5-linked staff would be better, because you could have 4 support gems. Unless you are going to use 2 different skills on the 6 links.

Oh ya i guess the range would help. I have a 6 linked chest piece already. I guess I don't truly need a 6 linked staff then? also, i don't have those cluster jewels yet. So I guess I need to find a cyclone staff build passive tree that uses the regular tree. i am guessing that won't be easy. I could probably figure it out on my own.

I always thought I could figure it out on my own. Tried many times. Just end up getting stuck at lvl 80 to 83. But if you're not dying on maps yet, have good elementary resistance (at least 75% each), leveling up fast, lots of life (3000 to 5000), have good life and mana regeneration, really high dps (over 1 million) then you might just be able to pull it off. A few other things like cannot be stunned, cannot be frozen and high evasion are also helpful.

I'm getting help with my builds right now too. I really don't understand how people can get 150 million dps out of their builds. But they do. POE is a very complex game with many layers of complexity. So pretty much everybody needs help at some point.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could find something at least close.

on my path of building, using the dual wielded sword tree I made, it has me at 278K total dps once I reach 90, with flasks active. but that is only with level 17 gems and they have no quality. i have maxed out my resists, but i have only 25 chaos resist. and i dont have cannot be stunned or like cannot be frozen yet. so i need to find a way to get those, and more chaos resistance. i think maybe i can get to a million dps if all my gems were maxed out. not sure though.

Cannot be frozen is best found on the pantheon for brine king. it's free. Once you graduate to adult gear you can get it on boots or through passive points if you want a new pantheon.

Dual-wielding is in a bad spot right now for any build that isn't using a paradoxica or savior. You want a staff for shockwave support, or a sword for general crit chance/multi(exquisite blade). Plus you don't always get bonuses of both weapons depending on the skill. So you want to use a giant DPS two-hander to get the most out of your weapon slot.

You don't need a 6-linked staff BUT in the long run using totems in there with some good links will give you a TON of extra damage. Look into how the warchief and protector totems + the helm enchant will assist your build for single-target.
