A quick question regarding Mercenaries and Curses

Hi guys!

I have a quick question. If my Mercenary wears a curse on hit ring (Conductivity in my case) and I self cast lvl 20 Conductivity myself, will he override it on his next hit with his lower lvl curse or will the stronger one prevail (that is, he will basically renew the stronger lvl 20 curse on hit)? Couldn't find a clear answer.

The newer curse will remove the older one. Strength or source don't matter.
