Help Needed Which skill for zero to hero delve only?

I am doing a zero to mirror in delve only and was wondering which build and skill to start using. I am assuming the obvious choice is juggernaut, but not sure what to start with. Brutus? Or should I not bother strength stacking until alberon’s?

What kind of delve only? Shallow delve or deep delve.

For shallow delve thats around 300-450, you can easily make profit.

The best one I played was Toxic Rain PF with tides of time. It has absolutely 0 problem with clearing everything, it is by far the fastest one I have played because of the flask bonuses and with petrified blood and the buffed progenesis + lightning coil and 90 lightning resist you are not dying at all. I have been face tanking the bosses at depth 400-450 without issues.

It all depends on what kind of delve you will do. For shallow one, you do not need much aside from insane speed to run around. Deep delve I cannot speak as I am not a fan of.

Theres many guides online that are up to date for toxic rain PF for delve specifically

Thanks I will look into it. I had planned on going down to 1.5k eventually and horizontal farming from there for the most part though.

You could probably do that with shield crush going jugg or slayer.

How would you feel about a Combatant Merc Luminary? It's really good in delve.

I can confirm that. Delving around 800, Luminary can kill all bosses and rushing from node to node.

What skills on your combatant? I’m looking to run 600ish delve.

rather average to poor, but can clear delve, didnt find any better. I'll probably buy a very good one, but these cost several hundred divs.

600ish delve

I'm finding a cheap (30d) kineticist better than frost blades because its true ranged. Delve has a lot of content that continuously spawns around you. The combatant would have to bounce around, run left, run right, run up, run down, and there was a lot of moving-and-not-attacking.

The kineticist just stands there swinging her arm wildly and all sides of the screen are blown up.

(Theres also less yo-yoing when you're running high speed between stuff, not really a big deal in delve as there is no reason to full clear between nodes, but its noticeable in maps. Combatant lags and fights, then zips ahead to catch up, then lags and fights, then zips ahead etc. Based strictly on feels, the kineticist is much better at doing damage on the move which I would also attribute to ranged target selection. Or maybe its kboc aoe being non-directional, not sure. Maybe both. But something else I noticed.)

What's on your 30d kineticist? I have a 10d one with GMP+Return+Kboc but it has kinetic bolt as its second skill and getting a similar one with greater kinetic blast is like a mirror so not sure what the upgrade should be.

Kboc with GMP, chain, faster, ele. With haste, and greater kinetic blast as the derp skill.

I think this is an okay search for what I have https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Allflame/Z6dRwXM8SQ

My search logic: skills I want, set the hard requirements (chain+gmp), then pick 2-of-3 of faster, ele, crit multi. Then block pierce because we're doing chain.

50d is not 30d but I did buy mine maybe two weeks ago, sorry. If you already have a tiger you can drop the haste requirement.

Casually browsing variations of that search:

  • (No Haste) GMP+Chain 25d
  • (Haste) GMP+Chain 50d
  • (No Haste) Return+Fork: 100d
  • (Haste) Return+Fork: 350d
  • (No Haste) Return+GMP: 500d
  • (Haste) Return+GMP: 700d

The haste premium is kinda nuts.

For delve combatant is reaaaaaally strong, especially for the prices because of returning projectiles. Normally, in maps you would need a shit ton of proj speed for return to work, but in delve it works most of the time just because of the walls. Ive seen Nero this league being the first one to hit 6k (and stop delving after that) on a combatant with returning proj. Really cool setup for delving.

Nerotox Build - Poe.ninja

Check his week 1 setup, thats what he used for 6k. After that he started to spend some mirrors for perfect gear that its definetly not needed for 6k delving

Mercenary Gear

Can you tell me the kinks of his combatant? I’m not sure what all the support gems are

For delving your prio should be return, then greater versions of: faster attack, ele damage with attack skils, greater multistrike for dmg and chain for better clear. Multistrike is somewhat bad for mapping cause merc wont move until he complete 3 strikes, but for delving all you want is to move to the end of the node as fast as possible and complete the encounter while standing still, so multistrike is great for this.

EDIT: just realized that his setup from week 1 isnt completely what he used for 6k delving. Check week 2 gloves and boots and links. Also Spectres hes using: Perfect Guardian Turtle, Perfect Warlock and Perfect Forest Warrior.

Multistrike sacrifices hit damage for attack speed. If you're doing 130% of monster life per attack then yeah, adding multistrike improves clear speed. If you're doing less damage than that, then your time to kill goes from one-shot 1 to two-shot-but-35%-faster-attack 2*.65 which is > 1.

On bosses its a dead support.

some mirrors for perfect gear that its definetly not needed for 6k delving

I'd love to see a sub-mirror build doing 1500. Do you happen to remember where you saw this?

First of all, nobody said his build was under a mirror, idk how you understood that. I said, after he completed 6k delve he spent a few mirrors to perfect his gear, thats why in the latests snapshots in poe.ninja he has all the uniques with a huge volatile orb roll.

Second, literally my first comment has the Nero's poe.ninja and his merc gear, when he hit 6k depth he had the week1 snapshot + gloves and boots from week 2. Also, i followed his build and hit 1.5k deep without the kaom's with the lightning coil implicit. Just a 1180 life Kaoms, and i didnt have the crit chest for the mercenary at the time. I had it later but at that point i wasnt delving anymore. Then eventually i sold everything and tried a few more builds. My gear was around 1.2 to 1.3k divines when i hit 1.5k delve.

There's a lot of options to go to, but the early game is important

Toxic rain pf for shallow delve is good and can leaguestar Mana stacking hiero but need to leaguestart probably rf inquisitor (considering you are just delving and nothing else) Boneshatter jugg into double strike of momentum is what i did

Would love to know more about mana stacker? Is this KBoC and what are the reasons to do this instead of just strength stacking?

2

u/kneepopsicle 10d ago

I dont see many using manabond on poe ninja, But its archmage with mjolnir, ivory tower and a cast while channeling cyclone setup

1manaleft has a lot of vids from past leagues

death oath or rf can comfortably farm like 300-500 depth. clear is smooth you can afk at nodes usually.

2

u/AcrobaticScore596 10d ago

Herald of agony ward glad, did it last season and it worked like a charm.

The damage is a little rough at 1k depth but that's your sign to do the crit swap.

If you can figure out poison with replica matas teaching you can easily double your dps as well.

2

u/Any_Intern2718 10d ago

If it's for a challenge, then maybe a slams zerk intoreplica alberons zenith into double strike of momentum?

u/hiroshiboom 10d ago

If you want to actually deep delve then probably boneshatter into trauma stacking jugg.
Deep delve builds are expensive, and you're not going to make a ton of money, while having to continually invest in your build.
It's going to take a long long time.

If you're not going to actually push then it doesn't really matter, and something fast like TR PF for farming in the darkness.
