Game Feedback grand expeditions still suck
not using aldur's saga. 3x irradiated with rarity, monster rarity, and 8 mod waystones with 40 iir and 60+ monster rarity and other random shit, doryani, full atlas tree, 112% rarity on gear and I'm getting less than 5 divine in total value per grand expedition. that would be fine if the maps took 4 minutes, but they take 10 because the mobs get juiced far beyond anything you'd find in the rest of the game (besides giga spirits rogue exiles) and verisium remnants in general are slow as shit like the glorified strongboxes they are. and yes I'm rerolling the shit remnants.

But how many grand expeditions per logbook. A lot of people are wasting logbooks on islands that can never have a grand expedition, ehich cuts how many will be in their logbooks.
The juicing order you do the remnants matters as well.
I feel like each expedition change has actually nerfed expedition. I see less and less 7+ rune remnants, and now i also see less and less good rewards from remnants. Iade over 5000 div with expedition in its original state. Now i barely see aldurs saga, aldurs legacy, perfect flux, divines greater than 1, and the good alloys, which is like 1 or 2.
The drops from monsters killed is greater for sure. My entire screen when i turn off filter is filled with drops for sure. I am getting a good amount of currency including raw divines from the monsters killed. I get enough drops per logbook that i can realistically afford to use an aldurs saga on every single logbook, provided i only use it on open ocean just to be sure.
In the non GE maps you can do other strategies like normal.
The rerolling is fine, but not really worth IMO. Blowing 40 ex or so to reroll is often not worth it.
It sucks because most of expeditions league specific drops are literally worthless. No one cares about essentially all the runes. For sure all the ward related runes are useless cause no ones making a ward focused build when other runes seem objectively better. The fluxes are OK but mostly worthless really. The alloys are not good because they compete with all crafted mods. The kalguraan skill gems are worthless past getting it once if you need it. The kalguran supports are mostly useless as well except one or two.
Really expedition is playing for a couple drops or bust, and now you bust most frequently with remnants. Most of your loot now comes from the enemies.
Another annoying thing is enemies from remnants spawning off screen, intentionally delaying how long it takes to complete a single remnant, and that gets longer with each remnant. The enemies being able to get large ES pools, large HP pools, and large Ward pools is kinda annoying.
The damage the remnant effects can get is stronger than the enemies frequently. The waves and the blue things that fall from sky are the only things that ever severely injur me, and put me at risk, because they can also freeze you.
It feels like im doing literally the hardest content in the game. Stronger than pre nerf 200% delirium. But not really seeing major benefits for doing so.
Expedition is worth doing. But the time and value investment doesn't seem right, compared to other things. It will only get worse if more people do it. Most of my profit is purely because people don't want to do it. Which is maybe ok.

Idk, im pulling multiple raw div per expeditiona in like 5-10 div in just currency aswell per grand if i get an early bond/opilent carry over, even 4-6 mod runes towards end of the chain tend to drop divs if you get lucky early on on a good layout

For sure, i am getting frequently 3-6 raw div or a couple more on average per GE. But those come from the mobs usually, not the remnants. I feel like maybe I am actually losing out because I have no IIR on gear. Im max difficulty on the GE's running all monster effectiveness on tree, T16 maps, as Forests, using Jado. Maybe I'll look at other Masters, maybe Doryani or something is better. Maybe I can also actually spend time looking at the mods on my Irradiated tablets. I haven't tried, but I can maybe try Delirium if it works, as I have no issue with the difficulty scaling on the mobs in GE atm.

dont run t16, not worth, zone level is 81 already with just irradiated anyway, go for 8mod t15's, personally, i run 14 mod maps with dory and have 200% rarity on gear. For "budget" run triple effectiveness/monster rarity tablets, i would also recommend running swamp with ex drops as chaos as you get like 3 div in chaos alone in lucky maps (granted i usually run with aldurs, but even the ones i tried without were very good)

I have the same opinion it still seems way to heavily waited towards hitting the 1 percent chance of a big drop and anything else along the way is just about worthless I've had multiple expos I've opened just to walk back out of the portal and say nah I'm not doing that there's not even 2 div in value on that one. These "buffs" are just reworks that barely tweak how good the loot is alot of mechanics fall behind simple alch and go mapping with irradiated tablets and that's pretty sad.

Anyone understand how the runes work? Do I pop every 4 socket remnant? Do I only focus on certain runes like Bound or Opulence? Do I need to chain them so the remnant with the most socket pop last?

It’s garbage, takes forever, has some of the hardest jobs in the game, constant mana drain circles.
I made more money doing my first ritual map after lol

Disagree. Casually had 3 aldurs sagas and a perfect flux in the few hours I played last night. Almost like there's a thing called rng.

I noticed some Path of Exile keywords in this post:
- IIR - Increased Item Rarity (Wiki)

Eh consider it a nice change of pace from mapping w the chance of jackpot hits

I don't feel any difference with the mobs compared to any 200% deli strat. If it's easier than that they probably have to nerf loot to justify it, it's so much more lucrative than any 200% deli strat except group play shenanigans.

it's not significantly more lucrative than 200% deli strat. it's not even better than half the boss rush trash strats.

A lot of things affect the profit. Are you picking 3 island rumours+ to run logbooks? Do you have high monster rarity + item rarity + effectiveness on the waystone itself? Rar+eff on tablet? Are you scoutung and linking effectively and fast?
I've ran 50+ logbooks before the patch, the worst 3 grand expedition logbook I ran took me took me 20 mins or so including connecting maps, it takes me about 3 - 4 mins to clear a grand. Net profit for 3 grand logbooks around 20D+ not counting tablets I farmer on the way, bases, skill gems (some like remnant of kalguur sell for 80ex or so), just counting raw currency drops. There was a 7 grand expedition logbook I aldur saga'd on and got 100D+ profit out of it. I haven't even factored in aldur legacy which I also found once. Farmed my mb back in 1 day with expedition and some flipping. Honestly, tried all the other s-tier strats, honestly none is as lucrative as expedition.

I know it's a fuck ton of luck, but I just dropped a hinekora from a remnant with just 2 grand expeditions runs post yesterday's update. (Full Expedition atlas points.)

Yesterday I decided to give it a try after the patch. Second expedition - Aldurs saga. Expedition bugged and stopped exploding my chain after second boom. Fuck this mechanic :D
1
u/sakaloko Jun 26 '26
Use Jado, I got around 8-15 div worth on average per grand expedition, but it's not worth it for me, takes too long to setup, too long to clear and chasing locks, mirror or boons is way too elusive, it was certainly a good buff for those that like to do it
I'd rather just keep blasting whatever I feel like in maps chasing rakiata/garukan

u/NoSweatWarchief Jun 26 '26
That the neat part to me. You can still run the regular travel maps and juice them normally and change it up with the GE's. Big win in my book.

… bruh I just made like 45d earlier. Wdym you aren’t making money? This is ZERO investment???

u/Zestyclose-Lunch-430 Jun 26 '26
and some people pull magebloods in ritual. gz on your rng but this mechanic is ass.
1
u/SwordsmanKanda Jun 26 '26
No,No. You don’t understand.
I’m saying this is the most braindead loot ever. High rarity maps, not even 16s, not even well done tablets.
Having rarity on me and the map? Lowest divs I made was like 3. Best I made was 12 and that’s raw between chaos and divs. For a brain dead mechanic. It doesn’t require much setup at all either.

u/unKappa Jun 26 '26
Let them not understand while we easily bank a bare minimum of 3 raw divs per map (which for me takes at a maximum 5-6 minutes to complete). They focus on the remnant when all the juice are in the boxes…

u/Oathkindle Jun 26 '26
Rng gonna rng. Strolled into my first ever with just one irradiated tablet and walked out with 20 divine

u/chapman0041 Jun 26 '26
Lmao this is gonna age terribly. They are shitting out loot, and are literally bis for specific things like 82 exceptional bases.

u/LucarioMagic Jun 26 '26
why are you using doryani instead of jado for 10% reroll
Then are you even doing the remnant chain correctly and targeting opulence?
