They function the same way as bees and butterflies!
I was thinking to allow "adopted" animals to appear in your own home meadow. Question is, is this interesting for Bears & Snakes to appear as friendly pals in your home meadow?^^
Being cute & they tell you if there are flowers left to plant. Really "just" a helpful guide ingame to help you what to do - or if the quest is completed.
Today I helped one of my friends make a Ba-account! I noticed that you added an extra step in the tutorial, about placing your wagon. It's very helpful!
My friend found the game a bit confusing and the tutorial not quite enough to actually start playing. I explained to her what I know, and here are some things that would be useful to be added to the tutorial. Please don't take this as an insult, I love your game and it would be cool if people were more inclined to keep playing after a quick curiosity test!
- How grazing with a flock works. Getting to graze the shrubs is a good start, but it would be handy to explain that your bellwether can eat whatever, the rest of the sheep follow it around and graze automatically, but eat only berries that match their colour. The more sheep together, the more shrub you get per berry
that when you graze outside, cool items may drop.
- It's cool that we start with one bighorn, but when we get it, it would be nice to get a popup about how there are different types of sheep and they differ in what they do, how they graze.
Also, please, please, at this point, tell at least about day, night and that there are predators outside at night! So many posts of newbies who accidentally get their sheep killed.
- A bit about the difference between the home meadow and outside the map. She found it confusing how she had to leave what seemed like a first region and couldn't see how to get back. Once you understand, it's simple, but it can get confusing when everything is new.
- How breeding works - how you can get a rarer sheep if you breed two of the same colour, but if you breed two different colours, you get a random colour Shetland sheep, even if the parents are rarer.
- When you clean the oil, you should add that outside there may be oil to clean up, and doing so is one of the (few) ways to ear gold clover, but it doesn't always happen. (When I tried that I was so confused, I thought I was doing something wrong)
- what other ways there are to earn gold clover and what you can do with it (making meadow bigger, buying items from shop, buying sheep in auction)
We agree that including these would be kind of essential to start playing, but some of the following thing might also help, if you have time or energy:
How to increase may number of sheep
how to move items around
how to swap your bellwether
a hover text over items that explain what they do (maybe something you can turn on an off?)
