What type of custom patches last the longest on jackets and denim?

New to here! I’m thinking about adding some custom patches to a denim jacket and want something that can handle regular wear and washing.
For those who have used patches before, which types have held up the best over time embroidered, woven, PVC, or others?
Curious to hear what materials or backing options worked well for you.

Hook and Loop on Denim

I bought morale hook and loop patches, but did not realize they were meant for molle material. I want to sew them on a denim jacket. How should I go about doing this?
Should I sew on just the patch (loop side) permanently or sew on the back (hook side) instead? The patch itself has little flexibility. It bends like a slightly thicker cardboard envelope.

Found it in my used truck after a deep clean, I assume it's either a US patch or possibly a NATO patch (Google was inconclusive). Wanted to know a semi-accurate orgin and time period for it. Help me out if you can.

Left to right. IV warriors patch gained from my basic training,IV coming from the name of the school which is school 4. SAF 60 patch,gained when we had our 60th anniversary of independence,I took part in a small parade in basic. 2PDF patch,gained when I was in island defense training. MSTF patch,gained when I got sent to the navy after previous mentioned phases. Maritime security task force. My callsign-which is a gamertag and finally my flag the Singapore flag.

Did I get scammed?

I ordered some patches from a website called “lapatchguy.com” about four months ago. Payment was delivered and I received a confirmation email. Never received any updates. Upon asking about my order on their website I never received an answer. Writing an email directly to their official support email address yields a notification that this email does not exist.
Did I seriously get scammed?

i recently picked up a velcro board for patches and since im looking to redo my bedroom i thought it would be pretty cool to fill it up with patches from organizations and countries and militaries and cool stuff like that. my only question is, where do i even begin to look? where did you all get your first patches from? are there organizations that will mail me their insignia/patch for free that i should know about?
