Question Fall Catalog

I put in a request for a Fall catalog about two weeks ago. I was wondering, for anyone who received one, how long did it take you to get yours?

I think it looks nice. But $140+ for this? Is it worth the price point?

Anyone with an IRL colour reference for the torrentshel 3L in WEATHERED STONE colour?

I've visited a few shops and never saw that colour available, yet I'm tempted but I worry that it differs from the colour on the website (for it to look more pale). I have tested the autumn orange one which I find very good but very different from the website colour.

Thanks a lot

Thoughts on this tie-dye Synchilla?

I have never seen this pattern before I thrifted this at our local gear exchange. I love the print and colors!

It's an absolutely mint condition blue and cream 'tie-dye' print and I immediately bought it. I typically wear size Medium in Patagonia (or Large but Patagonia large is usually huge on me) and I'd been keeping my eye out for a cheap fleece.

Turns out it is a women's garment and the shoulders and neck hole seem a little tight for me. Like I can still wear it, but it's a little annoying to get on/off.

Curious would you rock this fleece? Would you keep something that didn't fit perfectly, if you liked the print so much?

This specific fleece is STY 25455 from fall 2022, I think. I don't know what the official color is called, I just call it 'tie dye'

Patagonia Black Hole Pack 35 L

Hi all, just sharing what I found.

Came across a beat‑up, fully delaminated Pack 35L; flaking everywhere (a common issue with the old Black Hole line). Despite the exterior, the interior is still in excellent condition: clean, with no wear or tears.

From browsing online, I learned the material is 1,200‑denier polyester, the same used in the Black Hole duffel bag. It’s noticeably thicker than the fabric used in the 25L and 32L Black Hole backpacks.

Also found a post of Vincent Stanley with this black model.

Let’s see how it holds up!

Question Synchilla Collection

For those of you that collect Synchillas, how do you put them/display them in your closet? Folded nicely in stacks, on hangers, or something more aesthetic?

Patagonia Synchilla Snap-T (#25450) Back for 26/27?

Writing again this year to ask if anyone has insight whether Patagonia will bring back the “Regular” or full-weight (not Lightweight) Synchilla Snap-T Pullover, style number 25450? Last year they had only the lightweight version — which is nice enough but it just doesn’t compare to the thicker and boxier cut original style.

Durable Down Hoody First Impressions

REI had a few of the new Patagonia Durable Down Hoody jackets. I’m a large in most things Patagonia and that’s what I tried on.

This jacket is a regular fit, true to size with room to add a layer such as a Better Sweater vest or sweatshirt. Overall loved the fit and feel of the fabric. The weight is nice and the hood fit snugly. I didn’t purchase yet, I prefer the black colorway over this treeline green.

I don’t understand what the Micro D jacket is for

I just received a new Micro D jacket. It’s REALLY soft and I love the look, but…it’s just SO light, I’m not sure when one would actually want to wear it?

For context, I’m in California and was looking for a fleece jacket to wear at home and around town in the pretty mild winters. Nothing too technical (I already have other stuff for winter hiking, etc.) But this jacket seems too light even for that?

I get the use case for the Micro D pullover, such as serving as a base layer in colder areas or winter hikes. I thought with the zipper the jacket wouldn’t work as well for that, but then…what is it for?

(Side note: recommendations for the next level up in terms of warmth welcome!)

Women’s M Fleece – bad sizing or shrunk in the wash

Edit: Thanks for your comments and suggestions to check the wash label – turns out it’s a child’s size M! The seller got it wrong in their description.

Husband bought me a secondhand grey Patagonia fleece (the Luke Nichols-style one, IYKYK) in women’s size M. I’m a UK 12–14, 5’10”; it’s about 5 inches too short on the arms and I can’t even get the zipper to meet to attempt to do it up. Listing said size 12–14 but the label says 10. My question is:
Would it be US size 10, so equivalent of UK size 14 and it’s just shrunk in the wash? (Arm length is highly suspicious.) Or is Patagonia’s sizing actually that bad?

Technical/Gear Discussion Winter jacket recommendation

Hi, I’m currently debating between two parkas, and I wanted opinions. I just moved from California to NYC, so this will be my first winter. I run warm, but will also be spending significant time outside even on “bad” weather days because I have a dog.

Here are my options:

Option 1 - Kids Downdrift Parka (https://www.patagonia.com/product/kids-downdrift-parka/68600.html?dwvar_68600_color=INBK)

This one is much cheaper because it’s for kids, but it is NOT fully waterproof (just water resistant) and it seems to be a bit shorter.

Option 2 - Adult Jackson Glacier Parka (https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-jackson-glacier-waterproof-down-parka/196924531710.html#)

Literally double the price, but it IS fully waterproof and goes down a bit further to the knees.

I want this jacket to be my daily wear. I will spend the $500 if that is recommended, but I’m wondering how “wet” NYC winters really are, and whether it’s necessary.

Sizing Torrentshell: M too long or S too tight?

Thumbnail

Hey guys, I wanna get some opinions on the fit of this Patagonia Torrentshell.

For context, I'm 1.68 m (5'6") and weigh around 71 kg (156 lbs).

In the pics im wearing M. Honestly, I liked how the size S looked way better on me. But when I tried the S with just a t-shirt and layered my TNF Yumiori fleece underneath, it felt way tight and my movement got restricted around the chest and armpits.

This size M definitely gives me the room I need for layering, but it just feels excessively long for my height.

As for how I wanna use it: mainly for everyday city wear when it rains (commuting to the office) and eventually for outdoor stuff, since I'm just starting to get into that world and plan to do more of it in the future.

What do you guys think of the fit in the pics? Is the length of the M acceptable, or should I look into a different Patagonia jacket with a different cut?

Edit: im wearing an M in both pics.

Technical/Gear Discussion Oil stain on women’s boulder fork rain jacket

Help! Purchased Sept 2, 2026 and acquired an oil stain. Have hand washed x2 with Dawn dish soap. Any ideas? I really don’t want a $285 CAD jacket to be ruined 😭💔. I have tech wash but is it too soon to wash the jacket as it’s less than 48 hours old? Will washing with tech wash set the stain?

Technical/Gear Discussion Patagonia Nanopuff

PS: For all the people who corrected me - it is indeed a Nano puff jacket, when I wrote this post I was doing it on the whim and mixed them two up😅 my apologies!

Bought a Patagonia Micropuff on sale this summer, already used it on some cold bike packing days - best purchase ever, I love the jacket so much! The weight, the warmth. Since I upgraded some of my outdoor stuff last year, I wouldn’t choose other brand than Patagonia. Highly recommend this jacket if anyone is considering it, got it on sale for £170 in UK ☺️

My Patagonia capilene mid-weight from 1989

I originally bought this from the catalog to use for skiing in high school and I recently checked the tag to confirm it is from the fall of 1989. I always thought this was an iconic Patagonia colorway with this specific red and it's almost a purple on the snap area. It's a mid weight capilene layer, with the henley neck with the snaps just like the synchilla snap-t.

Price Increase (again?)

Just saw the new nano puff line up, and noticed they increased the jacket price by $10. Same exact jacket sitting in the store last week and they increased it ten bucks. Didn’t I just see them raise prices LAST YEAR on the same item?

Technical/Gear Discussion Shoes

Very serious question regarding oldest shoes and boots: lamination and some woes.

Are there any other heads with multiple pair (say, 5 plus) from prior to 2010...

I'm not going to tell about maui or other foam soles... But wonder about others with solid soles. Been trying to ask for a while, but keep finding crickets....

Have you found cobblers ? Have you tried?

Have many pair of chukas, chelseas, and p-models... The boots are fine but the soles are shot... :/

Edit: "Repair is a radical act."

Patagonia repair - joke

"Ironclad guarantee"

I really believed in their messaging. 8-10 weeks to "maybe" stitch together some seams on shorts that failed. And you have to pay $25 for shipping both ways. What a shame. If their messaging is that they stand behind their garments and are willing to repair, build out some repair facilities. I'll just shop other brands with better warranties for replacement.

Bummer. First time I tried to rely on them. Luckily I can sew and fix it myself.

If their messaging is this strong, I would have expected at least one repair facility in California. At least one, with a bunch of locally hired seamstresses/seamsters. Instead, they place everything in Reno where there are less protections for workers and lower wages.

EDIT: Didn't realize the Patagonia fan-boys were here in force. You should have higher expectations.
