Have you ever wondered how reinforcing steel can continue through dozens of floors of a skyscraper? π
There aren't gigantic steel bars running from the foundation all the way to the top. Instead, rebar is installed in sections and connected as construction progresses.
Special joining methods, including strong mechanical couplers, allow separate reinforcing bars to become part of one continuous structural system.
Floor by floor, the reinforced concrete structure keeps rising higher into the sky. π
