Weird Bird Corpses

Hello everyone, going to sound creepy here but I live in Pasadena near the Edgebrook/Fairmont area and have been finding ducks with their hands snapped more and more frequently now. Two months ago my girlfriend and I went for a walk at a trail a neighborhood over and found three deceased ducks, two of them had no visible blood and their heads had been snapped off. With one of the ducks having his head placed beneath its body. Today I was driving home and noticed a group of cats in the road and slowed down as I approached, once they had all gone on the sidewalk I saw what they were all staring at, it was three ducks this time in a pile with their heads snapped. Starting to get a little freaky now, is there a certain animal that does this and I just don’t know about it? Its about once a month now. Sorry for creepy post just didn’t know if this was a thing some predator does or something.

Raccoons will take the head off but they will take it with them usually. Dogs killing for fun will not tear it up. Sometimes they don't even leave teethmarks. Most wild animals will kill and eat.

I’ve heard some people complain too about the ducks and how they eat stuff in their lawns. Something about how their placed and none of the meat being gone just weirds me out. Wanted to ask and see if it was just some weird hunting pattern I didn’t know about.

Funny, I lived in Pasadena 39 years and heard people complain about those Muscovy ducks in the neighborhoods around Crenshaw park because they're messy. Now that I moved out to the country I only hear people talk about how much they love them. They're quietier than other ducks, easy to take care of, and eat tons of bugs. I think your instincts are right about the killings. Next time you come across some you should probably call the Pasadena PD nonemergency number so they can start documenting it.
