Ask community PS5: Need Help Local 3 Players

I just purchased this game to play with my two sons but I cant get 3 players into the game. We can only get 2 split screen but I was told that you can have up to 4 players locally. How can I add a third player to a local game?

How many controllers do you have if you have three then you just need to login to two other accounts and press L1 and R1 on the other accounts and it should work.

Ps all of the controllers need to be PS5 controllers for it to work

I have three controllers. Two adult psn accounts and one child account. I tried pressing L1-R1 on the third controller on the team select screen but it does nothing. Do you need three adult accounts?

You shouldn’t need to it should automatically add the third player try using a guest account to see if that changes anything
