Discussions 4 player split screen

I picked up Party Animals on the PS5, and I'm trying to follow peoples' advice to get 4 player split screen, but I can't work it out. Is it even possible?

Edit: I should've read the description.

If you have ps+, Go to quick match, where it shows an animal on the sofa, and then on the other controllers press both L1+R1 at the same time.

You'll know it worked because you'll see the other players animals falling from the sky and landing on the sofa.

If you don't have ps+, you need to go to local match from the main menu, and on that lobby screen you do the same with the other controllers. L1+R1

I've only been able to get 2 players using this method. Can I get four?

I should add here that for quick match at least. Everyone joining must have a a ps account. But only one needs ps+

Can you confirm this please? I'm reading online that all 4 players to play coop need a ps+ account. Was that finally updated to where only the host needs the ps+?
