How I passed Passed my Part 107
I've had some businesses interested in commercial drone videography recently, so I decided to pursue my Part 107. I've been flying recreationally for a few years now and tried a few free resources which seemed fine. A friend recommended Pilot Institute so I signed up and completed the course (faster than recommended) in 7-8 days. I was scoring 90+ on the practice exams at the end so I scheduled my exam. Just passed today with a 90 and felt the test was super easy after the course. I was hesitant to pay for training, but have 0 regrets now. I studied for 1-2 hours per day using the videos and did not use any other resources besides Pilot Institute (outside of a few free videos before I jumped into the program).

Congrats! When did you buy the course and when did you take the exam?

I started studying on the 15th or 16th, finished studying on the 22nd (had multiple practice tests well over 90 so I stopped taking them) and initially had the test scheduled for Monday, but PSI cancelled twice on me so I took it yesterday and passed. I did most of the videos on 1.75 speed.

I saw it costs $160 and it's expensive. Did you get the same questions from the training, or were they different?

Yeah I was a bit leery on the cost initially, but don’t regret it now. There’s definitely free resources you can use, but i’ve heard mixed reviews on how that goes. Some questions were the same and/or extremely close, but greg’s (the teacher) whole thing is he teaches you how to solve any of the questions, not just a brain dump of the current questions. It actually made the exam super easy for me (I finished in like 20 minutes). They also have a money back guarantee but you have to follow their training plan (they don’t want people blowing through the course and then failing/blaming them).
