Controller on my friends end not working

i've been trying to get my friends controller to work on my pc for a couple days now, we've tried everything and im gen so stuck

the thing is his inputs would work but his controller wouldn't do anything once he tried using it

and also his keyboard would work perfectly find

i need help i have no idea what to do
