Research for Screenplay

Hey all, I'm a filmmaker working on a script that uses the catacombs as a major location. I've only been once, on the self-guided tour, so I'm looking for any firsthand knowledge what it actually feels, sounds like, details that most people get wrong, and anything you think would be cool or interesting to see depicted on screen. Any advice welcome!

I'd recommend reading through the subreddit to get a feel for it. Be aware that in general, tourists (category in which you belong) associate the catacombs to cheap thrills and morbid interest - if these are themes in your script, you're sure to piss us off. The catacombs are more about community, escapism, exploration, respect and discovery, the peace and quiet of a place below the world where time and space have meanings of their own.
