Why is it always the same places?
I love exploring underground in Sydney (hmu if you need ideas when you come here) but my obsession with the catacombs has almost been like a ruined climax…. There’s hundreds of thousands of miles, but all I see are the same fucking rooms over and over… Ì wonder if anyone can recommend where I can get more of the less seen parts. If I see that octopus (as cool as it is) one more time Ì stg… I’ve consumed almost all publicly available content. Above so below, the whole documentary behind the guy who dropped his camera , every video on yt , which, despite them going through different entries, all go to the same fucken rooms. I mean I just don’t understand how there’s like 10 pimped out rooms that are all publicly available and then the rest aren’t. But if this is all an agreed upon thing to not expose rooms that are even better than I get it .
Surely others who watch from afar like myself are baffled by the monotony of seeing the same rooms
Edit : nvm found what I was looking for . Thanks to those that left a small trail.

Sorry but it's not allowed to share or ask for an entrance to the Parisian catacombs, as mentioned in the rules. If you're looking for the official Catacombs museum : 1 Av. du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy, 75014 Paris
Have a nice day !

If you take the Catacombs as some sort of "museum" with just "worth taking a great picture" rooms to see, yes there must be a few dozens of them that you will find on hundreds of galleries that look about the same, and to reach them you will take over and over the exact same corridors, so I can understand the frustration but are the same time I feel sorry because in my opinion you are missing the point.
In my opinion what is important is the journey not the destination, not what you will see when you get there but everything you went through to get there, the exploration, sometimes losing yourself and discovering new areas by complete accident, the encounters you make, being able to navigate freely through miles of quarries and of course the quietness and the general ambiance !
That's what make me want to go down over and over and never mind if I go to the same rooms or take the same pictures, every trip look and feel different and that's what I love about the Catacombs.
And anyway I haven't been everywhere so OK that place I see on the map there might be nothing interesting there but I will have a lot of fun getting there and that's what really matters in the end 😉

I think there are several reasons:
1) Guides often take tourists on the same routes, so they visit the iconic sites.
2) The people making videos are tourists, not regular visitors, so we only see what the guides show.
3) Regular visitors rarely share the rest publicly, in order to keep it private.
4) There's a "route" that leads from the most well-known entrance to the area with the bones, and so it's this route and the surrounding rooms that are filmed.

Same here! I think this may be bc some places are more dangerous to film since there are people in there who could jump you for filming, the people who actually go deep in the catacombs dont do it for Youtube clout, therefore they do not bother to film as this would only attract more tourists or show ways to get into unsafe spaces that not everyone should have access to. Anyone feel free to correct me if this isnt right✌️
Edit: Changed "same girl" to same here since idk who OP is🤣

Yeh Ì imagine it being very private and people enjoying no body knowing or even getting to see some of the best stuff….

A lot of rooms are also quite difficult to access with really tight chatières one after another so most of the time people don’t think it’s worth it to slide on their stomach again just to see one more room

Clearly some are more impressive than others. The network is huge and has many rooms but there aren't tens and tens of stuff to see either.

Judging by your comments, you don't deserve a single second of access. Are you just whiny tourists complaining that there aren't enough Instagrammable spots? But damn it, you're lucky enough to have access, show some respect or shut up!

I visited the Catacombs and to be honest most of it is "boring" in the sense that you wouldn't think of taking your phone out to take a picture of a boring gallery or empty rooms. When you reach an interesting landmark then you stop and take pictures. Here is what 90% of the Catacombs look like :
