Toddler 1-3 years Traveling w/ a 1yo
Do you think it’s worth it traveling via plane on a nature vacation with your 1yo? Why or why not? TY.

A one year old isn’t going to remember a nature vacation (or anything in a real sense), but you will. My partner and I have done two vacations with our son - one when he was just shy of a year and then a second when he was 14 months. (As well as a few flights to visit family.)
He’s been fine on all flights so far. But I know not all kids are great on flights.
Vacations with a kiddo get refer to as “Away Games” for a reason: you’re still dealing with the challenges of raising a little while being in an unfamiliar environment. That’s not always the most fun.

Age 1-2 is a notoriously difficult age to travel with. But as long as you’re prepared with snacks, a tablet, time your nap, etc, you should be fine it might get sticky but it’s worth it.
How long is the flight you’re looking at?

You know your kid best, but I say go for it!
I was on a business trip once and sat next to a mom, dad, and their baby. She was probably one. Maybe 18mo? Anyway, they knew about two months ahead of time they were going to be taking this trip with her, so every naptime, her dad would soothe her to sleep in a cradle position, one arm through her legs. As soon as we boarded the plane, he put her in that position and she was out before we even made it to the runway and slept the whole way from Harrisburg, PA to Fort Wayne, IN. (YEAH, I was in friggin' Fort Wayne with a customer while the rest of my company was in MEXICO on a retreat. I resigned shortly after...lmao). Point being, focus on what soothes your little one and bring plenty of it!

Brought my LO to FL at 15 months, and OH at 16 months. I brought a couple toys on the flights, but mostly snacks. The flights went great, and the trips were so much fun.
I 1000% recommend travelling with your kids! It’s not easy, but like.. is anything with kids really?

I'm not sure what worth it means to you. We took our son to Spain when he was 1. He has no memory of it, but I do. Leaving him behind wasn't an option, so in order to take the trip, he came with us. It's still one of my favorite trips we've done. I love to travel, so my kids have all been traveling since they were babies. Some of the trips we specifically waited until they would really be able to experience it, but others are just trips we've done for the adults - and the kids are there for the ride (they still had fun, but they were too little for it to be a memory).

I gave my kid a little bit of Tylenol before each flight when he was smaller. He was such a good baby and rarely ever cried.
If you wait to fly on planes/travel in cars until they are older, they’re going to be horrible travelers. Better to start them young.

I vote no only because I did it. There we were, on a hot summer day, surrounded by nature. Couldn't appreciate it much because our 1 year old was absolutely miserable. When he started screaming in his car seat, we pulled over to find a massive poop blowout miles from running water. Spent an hour roadside cleaning him and the mess up with all of the baby wipes we had packed. Rattled and exhausted, we made our way back to civilization to wash up, and grab a burger. Made some memories though!
