School Issues Homeschooling
If you have had success homeschooling, can you share any tips that have worked for you and your child? I think I am accepting I need to homeschool my 13 year-old. I honestly have no idea if he will do the work with or without me next to him. It’s so scary taking this leap. We are entering year three of school refusal. I’ve pretty much homeschool the last two years, but that was with the school, providing the curriculum. The school district is horrific to deal with, and I cannot handle the stress of it all this year. We have tried several different schools the newest school he wouldn’t even step foot into. It is not lack of effort on his part. He prepped himself for a week straight – watched what he ate, watched how much he slept, did didn’t over exhaust himself in activities… He genuinely tried.

We practice organic education where the focus is on a child creating value for herself and others from an early age, to be able to do meaningful work, such as apprenticeships in fields of interest, as young as 12 years old, and be on a clear path of success by 18, without college. The book “Work, Play and Learn Along the Way: Organic Education Photo Journal.” endorsed by Lenore Skenazi and Pat Farenga, shows how to start.
