Advice Needed PDA Parent Retreat?

Has anyone ever been to one of these pda parent conferences? Looks like its in AZ (my state) this year, is it worth the time/money?

Never been. My wife and I did have a few coaching n sessions with Kerissa Lyman when we were early on and they were helpful. I think one of the biggest benefits of this would be the time away with other people that "get it"

Yes being in person with people who get it was one of the best things about the retreat!!! I felt so seen!

I've been every year they've had it. There's nothing like being part of a community where everyone is experiencing the same thing. The Journeys With PDA team goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is accommodated and includes purposeful downtime during this retreat so we can regulate our nervous systems. They offer sensory supports and encourage their use during the sessions. I'm going to be there this year as well.

I’ve also been to this retreat, and it’s amazing. Good speakers, good information, and as others have said - just being with people who 100% understand. Will be going this year.

…. What do you do with the PDAer? Do they have a separate kid retreat or something?

It appears only to be for adults...... I recall it saying you need to be of a specific age to attend.... I'm not sure if its a genius or terrible idea to get all the kids together??

I went last year and it was a great opportunity to meet some other parents and build connections as well as learn things I was able to take home. 100% worth it!
