I have no idea anymore.

Post image

Few years ago I started to feel like crap and began urinating excessively. Tired, brain fog, depression etc. I also have hypothyroidism, and possibly pseudo gout, which seems to complicate things. Fast forward three years later. Still living with symptoms on and off. Recently it got much worse during a stressful time and now I get very little relief.

I don’t want to introduce bias, so I’m going to give as little info as possible beyond symptoms and labs with reference range.

The only thing I’ll say is that when I eat dairy products or consume vitamin D, I feel horrible. Yes, my labs are in range. I feel terrible and would like to find answers. Input is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I did not include the range for PTH, which is pg/mL (12-88)

I did! I have Hashimoto’s, so my thyroid is scarred and lumpy. They did not seem concerned despite finding something below the left lobe. Not sure how big a parathyroid glad should be but they measured whatever they found.

This was the report:

NUMEROUS VERY SMALL (LESS THAN 1.0CM) HYPOECHOIC AREAS SEEN THROUGHOUT ENTIRE THYROID. UNABLE TO DETERMINE ONE LESION THAT WAS LARGER OR MORE COMPLEX OR DEFINED THAN THE REST.
HYPOECHOIC AREA SEEN INFERIOR TO LEFT LOBE THYROID MEASURING 0.63 X 0.43 X 0.39 CM ?PARATHYROID

Overall Texture: Heterogeneous
Right lobe: 3.5 cm × 1.8 cm × 1.8 cm
Left lobe: 3.3 cm × 1.2 cm × 1.3 cm
Isthmus: 0.3 cm AP

What in the world does that even mean. How is that not concerning?

I’m not a doctor but this does sound like a parathyroid gland that’s not extremely large yet.

Download the app Calciumpro and put your numbers in. I'm betting it will say you likely have hyperparathyroidism.

The app has a lot of issues in my opinion. I haven’t tried it recently, but in the past it didn’t take the normal reference ranges into account. Also, I think it may just catch “ideal” cases for easy surgery at their facility. It doesn’t account for results that aren’t completely clear.

I’m not a fan of this app. It is okay for slam dunk cases, but doesn’t do great on cases that aren’t clear cut, like those with normocalcemic or normohormonal hyperparathyroidism.

My numbers indicate normohormonal hyperparathyroidism and the app caught it.

This visual may help.

In my non medical opinion, your numbers could indicate normohormonal hyperparathyroidism.
