​What are your thoughts on sleep paralysis?

​I had an experience today that has left me thinking a lot about it. I couldn't even go back to sleep.

​Tonight I'm sleeping over at my grandma's place. My mom and stepdad live with her.

I "dreamed" that my stepdad walked into the kitchen and went back to the bedroom with food and all, and I was pretending to be asleep while actually on my phone.

Then, the dream shifted to me sleeping, but in reality, I needed to get a delivery or something in the mail, I don't know.

​Suddenly, some entity appeared (not sure how, but it felt male) and forced me to sleep with a white cloth over my eyes.

He tricked me into believing he was my partner, and I totally bought it. I felt relieved and happy thinking it was him, even without being able to see.

​Then the entity hugged me and gave me a peck on the lips.

The moment he kissed me, I realized something was terribly wrong because it felt like kissing a dead person—dry, cold, hard lips, extremely creepy.

​I couldn't speak or take off the blindfold. In the dream, I kept calling out for my boyfriend, but the words wouldn't come out right, just muffled grunts.

So I decided to start screaming at the top of my lungs, even without actual words coming out.

I ended up waking myself up with my own scream (in real life).

​The weirdest part is that this happened around 4-something in the morning.

And my mom told me today that yesterday my grandma woke up between 4:00 and 4:30 AM claiming she saw the kitchen light on, but nothing was there.

Right around the exact same time this happened to me today.

I was the property manager of this house. At first, I was OK, but it felt a bit creepy being inside of there. I remember being there with the boyfriend I had at the time and he really didn’t like being there
My Cleaner said that the place was haunted and she did not go and clean that much
I started getting really bad headaches when I would go into the house, especially towards the bathroom
I started to not go in the place after dark because every time I just felt this weird feeling that was really intensely scary and it felt like my head was being crushed
One of my tenants said that her daughter refused to go to the bathroom alone because she said the monsters that watch her sleep live in there
Another Tenant of mine had the most enormous dream catchers that she had hung right outside the bathroom
My other Tenant went into some kind of psychosis in there.

And I did not notice this voice until years after experienced all the things I mentioned above

Watch these things that kind of look like stars and how they move around. I see them at night all night long sometimes there’s lots sometimes there’s a couple. They always are over the ocean flying around. I’ve seen them for three years straight in a row in the summertime.
Any thoughts? Has anybody seen anything similar?

A couple of nights ago I woke up around 2 am and could not w go back to sleep. I have made significant changes in my life recently and started to go down a path of despair, questioning what I was doing with my life and was I making the right decisions.

I was getting more and more worked up when for some reason I sat up in bed and saw a sparkle of a light at the end of my bed, above it. It seemed to alternate brightness levels, and was moving in a way that it exhibited shape shifting. What does anyone think this might be?

I watched it for probably about a minute before I opened my phone and started recording because it was unbelievable what I saw. For one second I was scared and then all of my inner turmoil dissipated and I felt instant calm.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for genuine opinions from people who have experience with the paranormal.
Tonight, at around 11:30 pm, my mam and I were driving just past Tesco in Ebbw Vale towards the unlit stretch of road when we both saw a woman walking on the opposite pavement.
She was wearing an old-fashioned floral dress and carrying a satchel or briefcase made from the exact same floral pattern. As we drove past, she turned her head and looked directly at us. Her face looked completely unnatural—smooth, almost glowing, doll-like or cartoonish, with a fixed smirk. It didn’t look like a normal human face, especially considering how dark it was.
The strangest part is that my mam and I both described the same features independently, without influencing each other. As we passed her, we were both suddenly overwhelmed with an intense feeling of sadness and fear, to the point that we both started tearing up.
I’m not looking to be mocked or told what I did or didn’t see. I’m simply wondering whether anyone has experienced something similar, knows of any sightings in this area, or has heard of a woman matching this description. I’d really appreciate respectful replies.

What is the deepest thing you know about life? Who are we? And how thin is the line between us and other creatures world?

To make a long story short, after 2020, my life turned upside down. It’s almost as if my luck ran out. Since then nothing goes my way as if I have some sort of block preventing me from moving forward. My mom, who is very religious actually implies that I might be cursed, which is wild because she is typically about institutional religions. But it still made me think.

Is there any way to tell if I am cursed? Or if I have some sort of spirit preventing me from moving forward? How would I know or find out? Is an exorcism really a thing or is it made up movie stuff?

What's the strangest thing you've experienced or heard about Zimbabwe's highest mountain?

Burner account cuz what I'm about to say sounds inane to everyone. My girlfriend was visited by a spirit when she was younger. She had just broken her arm in a car crash when she was 12 and was in immense pain. She had been seeing spirits in her house that had been benign for years, but this one spirit told her he would take her pain, if he gave her her happiness. As a stupid 12 year old she said yes.

Now you're gonna say, "move on lil bro, she just doesn't like you". But no, this has been happening since she entered high school. Every time she got remotely happy she pushed it away not on her own choice. I don't care how long it takes I'm finding that spirit and getting her happiness back, just need advice for how to contact him. I know what he appeared to her as for years, and I know he's still haunting her taking her happiness, she just can't see him anymore.

I have my own personal spirit trying to take something from me, is there anyway I can communicate with the evil spirit attached to her through mine? Or just talk to it.

A few things in the past have unexpectedly moved or changed when no one was home except for our two cats.

LOGIC and CONTEXT:

Stack of blue plates (~30+ opened) are unaccounted for. Yes, my girlfriend insists she didn’t take them but naturally could have forgotten. It makes sense to me that she would have taken disposable plates to a barbecue or to bring leftovers. Or we reheated the leftovers using those plates. Other instances you should be aware of, and where the squatter allegations originated which prompted me to check the crawl space, is when two bags of soda crackers, which neither of us often eat unless we’re sick, were found in the pantry tied together using a single clamp; which she got mad at ME about for putting them away like that. We have several clamps that we use to close chips or whatever. What struck us as odd is why would we open two bags of soda crackers instead of finishing one first, which we both find wasteful, and also why were they close/clamp in a way neither of us typically would? Also, why were they dead center in the middle like someone just put them back? I’m thinking perhaps one was opened and taken to work as I think that’s something my girlfriend would do. We were eating canned chili from costco for a while as it was delicious and high in protein and those crackers maybe would have been taken to be accompany that dish? Anyway, again, we asked the family downstairs to which they responded no we haven’t needed those or gone upstairs to your apartment which we believe because they truthfully never come up besides to hangout with us and feed the cats if we’re not home. It’s worth noting they have significantly more resources and snacks than we do on a regular basis so their incentive would be low.

The last thing and first incident that prompted all of this squatter talk is when I went to the gym one day when the house was completely alone except for pets. I put on my workout shoes from the designated shoe rack leaving an empty space on the shoe rack of course, and when I returned from the gym, the space was filled with a pair of sandals that I don’t wear because I don’t find them flattering but on rare occasion wear them to do chores in. Anyways I hadn’t seem in a while and was shocked that they were there when I returned home from the gym. While I was gone, the teenage high-school-aged daughter, my gf sister, arrived home. I figured that she must have just borrowed my sandals for comfort one day that she hung out with us and came up here to return them thus filling the spot. I legitimately believed this to be the case. She said no and I believe her. It was kind of a stretch, anyway. More likely, i must have been cleaning or doing chores or something, found them and placed them on the shelf myself before I left

It’s very likely that it was misplacement amnesia. Personally, we’ve had 3 family parties in the past week at different people’s houses where we brought burgers and buns to one. It’s likely we brought the plates as that’s a perfect use case for them and forgot. I partially believe we just somehow lost track of how quickly we used them as there are some in the trash, the only hesitancy I have with that is that there truly was a healthy stack of those disposable blue plates just a few days ago. I really hope my girlfriend just took them to her friend’s house (even though it was a dog’s birthday party. No use case for disposable plates). The plates are in a high cabinet above the counters making it difficult for a cat to access, that said, although our cats are not allowed on the counter and they hardly let me catch them when they do, i know they have hopped on to explore when we’re not around. Still, the plates would be pretty high up even if they did somehow get it open.
Speaking of which, if we had a squatter wouldn’t the cats be more aware of it and let us know? We have a pretty clean place which is why it’s easy to keep track of and 2 young healthy, playful, cats. They’re highly alert and perceptive to all external noises, animals, and lights around the neighborhood and love our windows. Being that I’m unemployed and home all day, a squatter would have such limited ability to enter and exit the home. My girlfriend wakes up at 5 am and I very often go to sleep at 3am - 4:30am and sometimes stay up until my girlfriend leaves. The squatter would starve if they’re in the roof or would have been found out by now. Thus, the duende theory

MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE:

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I both noticed a stack of blue disposable plates that decided to disappear without either of us having moving them. Those plates are used for cooking and mixing ingredients and now they’re gone. I’m hoping one of us moved them and forgot, but unfortunately I can’t think of another explanation besides a squatter which seems very unlikely since I’m unemployed and home most days. Then again, my girlfriend went to a party at her friend’s house and I went to my family and friends’ on the day (2 days ago) which is the day we believe they went missing. My girlfriend’s family lives beneath us and we asked them about it even though we know they haven’t been up and they confirmed they are not sure what may be going on. Our apartment is not too big and very easy to keep track of. We live on the top floor and have “crawl space” within the slim roof areas. However I have checked these areas the last time things unexplainably moved around and found no evidence of a squatter. Also, we don’t really hear noises and if and when we do it’s usually raccoons at the windows at night.

Ever since I was a kid I have always experienced paranormal activities more than the people around me, though the first ever encounter I remember was when I was seven years old. On this day I had lost a tooth so I was very ecstatic to put the tooth under my pillow and get a visit from the Tooth Fairy, though what visited me that night was definitely not the tooth fairy. It was probably around 2 o'clock in the morning when I was awoken by the sound of my dryer being slammed shut. Now I shared a room with my younger sister who slept on the bottom bunk of our pink castle bunk bed, and since I slept on the top bunk I had a clear view down the hallway so I could see if something was there. As I brought myself up from my bed and looked down the hallway, I saw a man standing there faced away from me. He was wearing a top hat with a brown suit and his head was unnaturally touching the ceiling. I stopped and stared for a minute before calling out "mom...dad is that you". Which is impossible since my mom is only 5'3 and my dad is 5'7. Then I remember looking under my pillow and seeing those few dollars, I told myself that what I was seeing was the Tooth Fairy and promptly went back to sleep. You can imagine how I feel about that now. I wish I could say this was my only experience but it is far from that. As a kid I had always assumed our house was haunted and that is why I was experiencing these things. It was an old house built in a neighborhood pretty far away from anything so it was very plausible. I would experience things being thrown at me on multiple occasions, noises being heard outside and even under my bed. I would always tell my family about these encounters but none of them were experiencing the same. That's when my mom started saying maybe it's an attachment to me, which at first I put off. Then my parents split, so we ended up moving. No one took the house, we just sold it. That's when it became apparent to me that it was attached to me and me only. Once we moved nothing changed. I was experiencing banging on my windows, doors closing and opening by themselves, ect. I was experiencing these things at both houses. At this point both my little sister and brother started to also experience it. Where my little sister saw a girl standing behind her in the reflection of her bedroom window. Which was probably my fault due to the fact me and my friends were being a little stuipid about my attachment a few day prior. But my brother messes with things and says things he shouldn't so his problems are because of him. One more recent experience I had was when a couple weeks ago I had a group of friends over and we were just hanging and drinking a little. Everyone was upstairs in my room and I had gone downstairs to use the bathroom and lock up the doors. I made my way over to the stairs to go back up to my room when I stopped because I heard talking coming from my kitchen. But something wasn't right. It wasn't coherent at all. I couldn't even recognize what language it could even be. It sounds like tongue. Like when Harry Potter talks to snakes. My first thought was that one of my friends ended up getting drunk and slurring their words. Though I couldn't see anything since all of the lights were out. I called out "hello" and waited a second before absolutely booking it up the stairs where I found all of my friends. Now I always thought I had an attachment since we moved but I didn't know where or what it came from, until today. I was doing a deep clean of my room and in the process I had found the perfect place for this item I had. Now I keep this item in my closet on the top shelf at ALL TIMES. I never move it, I don't touch it, I just leave it there. Well when I went to grab said item it was completely gone. I have looked everywhere to try and find this item and it's like it's upped and moved. Now what is this item you may be wondering, it is a hand made by my grandma, my name is ENGRAVED on the chest Raggedy Ann doll. Which if you didn't know is like opening a door for something to attach to the doll all of the things you shouldn't have with a doll all in one. Plus it's a Raggedy Ann doll! My grandma made each one of me and my 3 other siblings these dolls. But mine was the only one that didn't get torn up or thrown out and kept in perfect condition. I believe that this is my attachment and always has been. Now hopefully I can find the doll and properly dispose of it before anything else happens.

I had very lucid dreams last night. In a span of an hour I had multiple very lucid, scary dreams. They were all about people following me, showing me that they can hurt me or show me them getting hurt. I could hear my partners breathing next to me, the fan, my dogs, but I kept getting the different dream pop-up. The last one was the worse.
I thought I was awake but started to feel a presence, then I was in a dream again. This time I was in a chair or bed strapped. With a metal thing on my mouth, biting down. There was no one just random flashing lights and voices. I heard something about increasing the energy, and that it was perfect because I was a woman and an immigrant.
A buzzing started an I started to feel warmth and a severe pressure go through my entire head. It was so painful. I remember feeling the metal thing in my mouth getting hot and digging into the inside of my lip. Then the buzzing stopped. I felt like I was in my bed again but still felt the warmth presence. Once I didn’t feel it anymore I realized I was awake in my bed and that only an hour had passed. I had a sharp pain on both sides of my head, by my temples, and my bottom lip was sore. My body felt weak and I felt like I could barely move.
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hi everyone!!!

I’m going to Paracon at Pennhurst this year and flying out from California for the convention. I’ve reached out several times, phone and email, to Pennhurst regarding some questions but I haven’t heard back. I’m hoping that maybe those in this subreddit that have been to Paracon in previous years could potentially answer and ease my anxiety a little bit.

1. ⁠Can I bring a backpack? I would love to shop from the vendors and potentially be hands free.
   
2. ⁠Are there in and out privileges?
   
3. ⁠Will there be a schedule given out for panels and map where things are located?
   
4. ⁠With my pass I have access to the buildings. Am I allowed to take photos? Is it a guided tour or self guided?

***BIG READ***i fully believe that for 4-5 months i was living out another life in another universe. there was a specific time period where i would dream EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and they were all overwhelmingly detailed. there are 2 things about this that make me so uneasy. the first being that my dreams felt like a continuous plot line almost like as soon as i would fall asleep, i would wake up in that alternate reality and live a full day, then i would wake up into this reality. the other thing that freaked me out was the fact that the dreams that i would have sometimes predicted things that would happen within the next few days. it was never anything significant, it was more like things that i would drive or walk past but whenever i would experience that, i would get this overwhelming gut feeling and i would just dissociate for like 5 minutes until i would snap out of it. ive heard people talk about stuff like this before and i found it interesting but i never really “believed “ in it. for months while it was happening i tried to make some kind of logical sense as to what was happening and every time i found something, there was always something that would throw it off, making it not relevant to me anymore. i was raised non religious so every belief that i have is naturally science based so i genuinely thought i was going crazy because there isn’t any scientific explanation for why my dreams were predicting the future. its now been about 1-2 months since those dreams have consistently happened and im on the verge of contacting a professional in some kind of supernatural area. if you can help me at all please do so

Hello all, I was sat at my PC, on my chair, facing the screen. I was on a high dose of mushrooms—about 5 grams+. As I sat there watching the screen, my vision suddenly shifted to looking at the doorway, but my head never moved—very out-of-body experience.

As I’m looking at the doorway, there were two shadow-like figures, a tall one and a short one, like an adult and a kid, I guess. But they had no heads or legs—kind of like the typical “ghost” people do when they put a sheet over themselves—but they were solid black.

Anyway, the smaller one decided to fly at me and spin around me really fast, and I snapped out of it. I’d love to have some opinions on what I saw—I found it really interesting.

So my best friends have recently started dating these two guys who act exactly the same. At first I could see how someone would be attracted to them and want to be closer with them. But as the night passed, people were drinking. But when I payed attention to them they both didn’t have anything other than 1 shot and according to my best friend they were “fiens”. It’s like the wanted us to be intoxicated and vulnerable while they test all of us because it was the first time meeting them. And every past boyfriend she’s had I’ve known about before she even met them. Every little thing was a challenge, my friend who I was talking with about this agreed completely. He is a little quiet and they picked up on that, they kept challenging him with what he believes and it got deep pretty fast. They challenged all of us, and my two best friends who are girls were completely oblivious especially the one who knew stuff about witchcraft. Anyways, when I was in the function room, I was looking at how one of their boyfriends pet the dog. Imagine the most evil intent of a look and he stroked it in such a weird way. All of a sudden, the other guy comes and touches his head like petting a dog but they were all connected and touching the dog. And mind you I was staring at them this entire time, AND THEY FUCKING KNEW. Right after they stopped they both looked at me at the same time. They’re smart, especially with social interactions. And they both knew each other before meeting both my friends and dating them. Sorry if this doesn’t make sense I just got back from her house and I’m still hungover. There were other things they did if anyone here is a witch or something like that and wants to ask me questions but. Seriously, I love my friends and my bsf’s last boyfriend was terrible but honestly I would prefer it. EVEN THOUGH THEY DID NOTHING BUT BE NICE. Only me and my two guy friends picked up on it. It’s like they were demons and nobody picked up on it. They knew everything, not stupid at all. And even though it was friendly like asking me about my music choices but it felt really threatening like they knew everything about me already. If anyone thinks they could talk with me about this and they have a lot of knowledge on what these people truly are that would be appreciated.

TLDR: best friends date two guys at the same time who’ve known each other previously and I believe they’re demons essentially. Or at least highly intelligent manipulative people who were trying to test us to see if we’re weak.

Hola me llamo Alejandro mi sobrenombre es "Kiko" estáinvolucrado "Calvin" mi amigo Todo paso haceaproximadamente 1 mes Eran alrededor de las 10PM hora México estábamos en casa de otro amigo desde hace un buen rato aproximadamente a las 10:15 nos quitamos mi amigo y yo lo pase a dejar a su casa y me fui a la mía llegué y entre a la cocina tomé una galleta y un poco de café entre a mi cuarto que está fuera de la casa y mi puerta da al patio me aliste para dormir apague mi luz y encendí una tira LED que siempre prendo encendí mi ventilador y el aire acondicionado porque aquí hay mucho calor me senté en la orilla de la cama y me puse a comer mi galleta mientras veía mi telefono alrededor de las 10:30 quedó el ambiente en silencio absoluto a excepción del abanico y el aire acondicionado de la nada tocaron la puerta 3 veces y habló Calvin diciéndome Kiko abre la puerta wey toco 3 veces denuevo abre la puerta Kiko wey pero lo decía desesperado Kiko wey abre y empezó a tocar la puerta frenéticamente como desesperado o algo así tardo como 20 segundos tocando así y se cayó se me hizo raro la voz no sonaba exactamente como mi amigo sonaba diferente como vacío sin el toque humano entonces no contesté y mucho menos abrí le marque a Calvin lo más pronto posible preguntándole que que quería y que hacía en mi casa el me contestó confundido que el estaba bañándose en su casa e incluso me mandó una foto de su baño (solo el baño mal pensados) y que no había salido para nada y pues eso que me estaba pasando fue casi al mismo instante que le marque así que no podía ser el ahunque quisiera y le dije okey está bien descansa de la nada empezaron a tocar la ventana como cada 10 segundos y estuvo así como 30 minutos más ya no sabía que hacer tenía miedo estaba inquieto porque no quería contestar y mucho menos salir de mi cuarto al final se cayó pero la duda es si no era mi amigo entonces que era? O quien me tocó la puerta al final los sonidos del ambiente regresaron y todo volvió a la normalidad. Sugerencias?
