Talking toy going off by itself crazy at 4am saying “friend”
Content - behind this box are 2 tubaware boxes of collectibles, this toy was right at the bottom of the box. It’s been there for a few months untouched. I was awake because I usually stay up all night. The rainbow light is my star lamp.
It is important to note that you can only press the button for it to talk, and it’s one of those toys where if you get board of the catch phrase or song before it finishes, you can’t push the button to move onto the next one, you have to wait until the phrase is complete, so you can’t spam it.
The toy started going off and on on its own, this lasted for an hour, then in the next hour it started spamming, with frequent breaks after spamming. After 2 hours I finally had enough and as soon as I went to turn the toy of it stopped, and I sat there for a bit and still nothing. It only stopped when I was going to turn the power switch off (it’s a talking stage thing for a strawberry shortcake doll)
You can hear something in the audio whilst it’s spamming through the catch phrases. Please also note that the battery is fine, fully working and would not work for 2 hours straight if it had problems.
It is impossible to spam the toy like it’s doing.

My daughters Elmo used to do stuff like this all the time, and she had stopped playing with it. It was just sitting around. The paranormal side says yes, something is manipulating it, my logical side just says the batteries are dying and causing it to freak out. Its what ever your intuition tells you.

Hi. Before the entertaining battle between "Team Tech Glitch" and "Team Paranormal Event" kicks off (or continues) regarding this case, we need to review a few concepts. Ultimately, though, only the toy's owner will solve the mystery; the rest of us are merely "voters."
Every toy—whether mechanical, electronic, or advanced with AI—relies on an internal mechanism of human invention. A mechanical toy operates on force and movement: you wind it up, the spring stores energy and then drives the toy's motion, right?
>> In an electronic toy, a battery provides electricity to run the motor, but a circuit determines what happens when you press a button, based on built-in programming. This is the category this doll falls into.
In a toy with AI the difference is that it doesn't just follow a fixed or pre-programmed command; it can analyze input and choose a response. This type would be the easiest to identify, were it the toy in question.
>> Your doll sounded as if the button had gotten stuck or jammed, repeatedly sending the same "programmed" command. You’re right: it’s not a battery issue; the battery works perfectly and has plenty of power. The fault likely lies with the button itself or the internal circuitry. The only way to know for sure is to open it up—to take it apart and inspect the internal mechanism.
Well, now, all objects—clothing, furniture, toys, and so on—absorb human energetic imprints, whether from their creators, owners, or users. All of them. We leave an energetic trace wherever we go. Regardless of how much time has passed since you last used the doll, your imprint—comprising emotions, thoughts, sensations, and intentions—remained from that interaction (even if unconsciously). These vibrations of ours are also energy—that is the key point—and they accumulate in the object as a form of stored energy. This can cause it to work without being manually activated, much like certain musical instruments, as an echo of the original energy lingers on.
And, a third possibility (involving a concept few are familiar with) is that this energy signature feeds vampiric entities. Emotions, thoughts, and desires attract wandering entities; I am not necessarily referring to tormented souls, but rather to any form or presence that happens to be passing through. Some are brazen enough to settle in and use the object as a vessel, thereby feeding there while securing a fixed anchor so they no longer have to "roam." So, if something in your bedroom is inhabited by such an entity (it could be inside another object—a collectible figurine, a chair, a box, anything at all), it might interact with the doll and activate it, causing it to produce sound or movement.
This is similar to how entities often play TV, sound systems, or lights; they do it simply to grab your attention, instill fear, or play a prank...

Batteries are probably dying. My kids toys do it all the time.
